guys, i just saw Viewnet fb page post abt Galax gtx 970 itx.
is the performance different than non-itx version?
price is similar though.
a GTX 970 is a GTX 970, it won't deviate far.

reviews can tell you performance but not failure rate. biggrin.gif

however I've used Gigabyte, ASUS and Sapphire over many months and stressed them a lot in my mining experiments.

Guess what - I had 4x Gigabyte with no failure. I had 4x ASUS and 3 out of 4 had fan failure but the card itself was solid. My Sapphire (4 - 5 units, Dual-X and Vapor-X) had a mix of RAM problem, FAN problem and various others of one that resulted in non-RMA.

Can i3 handle the windows 10, or should I opt for i5?
Budget office desktop..

Tablets are often powered by Intel Atom and they will have Windows 8.1 that is upgradeable to Window 10.

Core i3 is plenty powerful to handle Windows.

Hmmm, I was thinking more of getting a AMD A10-7700K, slap in on a GIGABYTE GA-F2A58M-DS2 with the same other specs you suggested but no discreet GPU. I'll reuse the office monitor since this has DVI support. But does a A10 chip require good after market cooling for extended operations? It's an aircon room but not sure if I need a good air cooler that fits a small matx case.

For APU I wouldn't spend for anything more than a A8-6600K.

I have the 7700 and 7850 and I can tell you that they're great stuff technology-wise but the pricing hurts the value of the product.
