- does famous parts mean more durability? gigabyte and asus?
- does liquid cooler worth to get? like cooler master Seidon 120V

current rig, am i too outdated?
Core 2 Duo E7400 2.8ghz
4gb Ram
Geforce 9600 GT
Cooler Master GX550W

appreciate notworthy.gif
*
- famous part?, well..that doesnt have anything to do with durability. as long as it from reputable brand like asrock or MSI or any other widely know and use brand its should be okay. even asus was know for messing up with RMA

- worth is based on your budget, if u got big budget sure why not if it helps. but if small budget and mainly use for gaming, better focus more on something that helps improve the performance.

imho, yes..your rig is outdated by today standard. nod.gif

QUOTE(MaKiMo @ Apr 1 2015, 12:07 PM)
Good day all (and Happy April Fool's Day),

This might be my last update for a while, I gotta start work on building the system soon.
So my final build is like this:

Intel i7-4790 (used) - RM850
Hyper 412 (got it quite cheap) - RM140
MSI Z97 Krait Edition SLI - RM460
Kingston Hyper Fury (White) 8gb x 1 - RM230
Seagate 1Tb. HDD - RM180
Xigmatek VECTOR 650W -RM249
Gainward GTX-970 Phantom 4gb (used) - RM1,000
Dell U2414H (used) - RM680
Phanteks Enthoo Pro (White) - RM335

Grand total = RM4,124

A bit over my initial budget or RM4,000 but I think that this is a good system. As per previous advice, the weak link might be the PSU, but from the research I've done, this would be enough for now, but if I add another GTX-970, it might not suffice.

Oh well, I'm looking at the Seasonic M12II 750W now... smile.gif
*
do you really need the Z97 board?.
oso take out the cooler, stock cooler by intel works just like it intended to. thumbup.gif

RM600?You'll have to settle for an i3 + H81 motherboard..unless you go for second hand option.

The i5s and i3s will cry for help if you play BF4 on a large multiplayer map.

FYI,the i3s..cannot run DA:I.. sweat.gif I'd suggest you to save more money. wink.gif
Yes,PSU is enough for single card,watts-wise,but quality is not that good.
He wants to SLI in the future.Read la next time. tongue.gif
*
lel, i miss the post before that since no quote. tongue.gif
in that case than keep with that mobo just scratch out the cooler.
unless hes already bought it.

Dear Sifus,

May i know Asrock H97 Pro4 and Asus H97-PRO GAMER which is better? As Asrock H97 Pro4 sold out on the shop that i wish to buy from. I need to wait about 2-3 weeks. Or, any suggestion on the motherboard that I can use with GTX 970.

Thank you.
*
they are both perform the same, so why pay more right.
anyway which shop?, if u dont mind buying online theres others option like Idealtech, Viewtech and Etech PC.

Is the mobo good enough?
*
its not the best, lack pcie 3.0, usb 3.0 port. if i remember correctly it doenst even have connection for front port usb 3.0 so if u going for a case with usb 3.0 ready you cant even use it.
but it will suffice your need with the right price.

WOw thanks! Noob question, just checked the viewnet price list. Why is i5 CPU preferred over the AMD FX CPU for gaming? Seems like at the same price, the FX series has more speed, core, and cache.
*
AMD single core performance is totally behind compare to intel. and game seems to cater single core performance more than number of core itself.

Hi my friend already help me reply, currently i am using R9 290, an hdd 1tb, an ssd, seasonic s12ii 620w, so i just need a new cpu+ mb+ram, casing i think i search myself so the budget allocate to these 3 can already. If possible can last longer the better so i dont need to change so frequently.
*
NZXT just launched their new case Noctis 450 which according to netizen is a combination of H440 and Phantom series.
some of them like it, but i think it look to edgy.

but u may want to take a look, could be your taste. nod.gif

QUOTE(InfoO2 @ Apr 29 2015, 11:36 AM)
Hi sifu here, I'm here to ask for suggestion.

As my rig here, I'm having

Intel i5 4570, MSI B85M, 4GB DDR3, Sapphire HD 7850 1GB GDDR5, WD 1TB SATA3, CM GTX 600W, AOC e943Swn

And now my problem is, the motherboard and PSU. The MSI motherboard having problem since I used the build in graphic while my GC is going for warranty. After that I took the motherboard for warranty for 3 times but they did not fix the motherboard problem. While my motherboard was on warranty, I'm using a borrowed laptop. And when I gave up the motherboard, I realized my PSU fan was broken, but it still function well.

In conclusion, I have a half broken motherboard and broken PSU. My motherboard can't power on using my PSU. What option did I have now? Buy a new PSU and motherboard? That was so waste of money, any better suggestion? I'm stuck with these stuff lol
*
im not sure if this is the right place to ask this as this is rig suggestion thread specifically to help people suggest what they need to buy.

but just for the sake of helping u, i may suggest whatever component that is surely broken, theres no other option but to get a new one. unless theres warranty and the problem is included in warranty u should RMA it.
its not a waste of money if u can make it working properly again.
