Sifus, any thoughts of a B85 mobo with the Intel Xeon E3-1231 V3?

Not gonna OC, and just for gaming.

Might upgrade the whole rig in 5-6 years, if that plays a factor

No issue. Unless you wanna go overclock setup. In 5-6 years, definitely you will need to change the motherboard for new CPU anyway.

Tq for the fast reply. I have some questions to ask you :

If I wanted to change to i5 or i7 in the future should I go for the Z97 mobo instead?
I am most probably will build a new pc after June 2015. Is it better to wait for Skylake since it might be out later this year?

Hello tristanx, thanks for your recommendation.

May I know is the cooling performance would far difference between 212X and the NH D-15?

And can I replace the X750 with Cooler master V750?

Core i7-4790K - RM1159
CoolerMaster hyper 212X -RM120
Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 5 motherboard - RM559

WD Blue 1TB hard disk - RM174
Cooler master V750 - RM429
Corsair Carbide 400R case - RM329

Total price :RM5619

Is the gainward without phantom lousier a lot than the leadtek?

Does this build okay with the combination? I do know I get what I pay. But the quality build do really far behind with the rig that sifu tristanx suggest? smile.gif thank you and please guide me.. I'm here to learn and get the best bang for buck

It's big difference for the cooling performance.

Gainward has 1 year less warranty. The chip is still GTX970. Not much difference on the performance
