Around 5-6k. Mainly for gaming. No hardwares because I never own a rig. Recommend me a case? Prefer Cooler Master case notworthy.gif
I think better get parts first because I'm leaving for college in 3 months. Must be troublesome to post the case laugh.gif

You need monitor,kb and mouse then, right?

Can consider CM Storm Scout II,should be around RM300-350,or N300,should be around RM200.

Since you're leaving for college, are you fine with carrying big case if you need to move? hmm.gif

If you are going to college and want to carry back your rig to your hometown during semester break, I suggest you to go for M-ITX build, much smaller and easier to carry but the downside is M-ITX is slightly more expensive than usual ATX build.

you mean matx is it?

well itx built can be expensive but again there's heating issue if you don't choose proper part as well.
matx is still fine as it is not that heavy and still save some space compare to ATX built(read:mid tower chassis).

Well, guess your option is an ITX setup. How about these?

Intel Xeon E3-1231 V3 3.4GHz RM954
Asrock H97M-ITX/AC RM380.54
Leadtek GTX980 Hurricane 4GB GDDR5 RM2179
Corsair Value RAM 8GB DDR3 1600MHz RM229
WD Caviar Blue 1TB RM199
Liteon 900S 256GB RM429
Seasonic M12II Evo 520W 80+ Bronze Fully Modular RM299
Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ITX RM317
Samsung S22C170BS RM402.80
Logitech Wired K120 Keyboard RM29
CM Hyper TX3 Evo RM94.34
Total:RM5512.68
CPU,Monitor,CPU Cooler and Motherboard are from Jayacom@LYP,Casing is from TechView and the rest are from Viewnet@LYP. smile.gif

There you go. brows.gif Still have extra space in the budget if you wanna get a bigger HDD,can chance to Seagate Barracuda 2TB RM299.

About the GPU,i've no idea which shop are selling a GTX980 with blower fan.For an ITX setup, blower fan is recommended, for cooling. hmm.gif

If you prefer a CoolerMaster casing, even for ITX...there's the CM HAF Stacker 915F,but i've no idea if the distributor bring in the casing.

Intel Xeon E3-1231 V3 is an i7 4790 in disguise.200MHz slower,no iGP but cheaper. brows.gif

Asus motherboard? Most of them are overpriced and no B85 and even H97 ITX motherboard that costs around the motherboard i recommended.

6-8GB vRAM?Not possible,current flagship cards doesn't have 6-8GB vRAM.Future,yes.

That case is nice, but it's an ATX full tower bro.. sweat.gif You said you want to bring the case easily.. tongue.gif It'll be heavy if you carry an ATX full tower...

Oh only the parts?Ok.

Intel Xeon E3-1231 V3 3.4GHz RM954
MSI Z97-SLI Krait RM556.50

SLI-ready setup. brows.gif

No,running 2 or more cards doesn't stack vRAM.Rumours say that DX12 might have a feature that can stack your vRAM.

Even if you have 2 GTX980s 4GB,it will stay at 4GB.

Since you still have 3 more months before going to college, I suggest you to wait for GTX980Ti, it is rumored to have 6GB VRAM, get the other parts first, but then Skylake (6th gen Intel processor) is also coming out in next few months brows.gif

The mobo can support till 5th gen processor only but 5th gen processor is not going to give you significant performance boost so I do not think you will upgrade from current 4th gen. 6th gen processor is rumored can support current DDR3 RAM so you might be able to keep it. As for GPU, SSD and HDD, the only way to upgrade them is to buy the upgraded new unit when they get released later.

With GST and weak RM currency, I predict the price of GTX980Ti should be close to RM 3k, maybe around RM 2800 price point.

To run triple AAA title on max settings actually not only depends on your PC setup, some so-called triple AAA titles such as AC Unity and Watch_Dogs are having problem running 60fps even on a GTX980 due to poor optimization from developers.

PC hardware is evolving very fast, the only significant performance boost in gaming that I can see is newer GPU, 2nd/3rd gen i5/i7 processor which is around 3-4 years old still can cope with latest games but GTX580/HD6970 which is around same age as the processor mentioned just now is struggling to keep up with all the fancy settings in latest games.

My personal opinion is save the money first and buy whatever the markets have when you are close to go to college (i.e. few weeks before reporting to college) since getting parts by parts now won't benefit you much as you cannot use the rig until all the parts are bought.

If you insist to buy them parts by parts now, maybe you can think of getting PSU, HDD and SSD first.

I'm going to buy an intel H81 based motherboard and pair it with pentium G3258 cpu. The motherboard BIOS needs to be updated to support that cpu.
Does that mean I must have an older supported CPU to be installed first to flash the BIOS?
If the motherboard doesn't support the new CPU before BIOS flashing, I guess I will just get a black screen and can't enter the BIOS to flash it, am I correct?

Normally new stock already have the BIOS to support Haswell refresh and the Pentium G updated out of the box since the update is almost 1 year ago.

But you can always ask the seller to help you update it if it hasn't, normally they have this service.
