QUOTE(jimkoay259 @ May 5 2024, 12:49 AM) It's great for lounge access if/when traveling. Otherwise, I'm just using it now for farming points in dining spending and the occasional travel bookings. It’s actually quite a lot. Do you know how long the points are valid before they expire? However, I wish I had known that the HSBC points redemption conversion was quite low before signing up. It's expected that rewards come with high spends and the calculations are never straightforward but I'll do my best to explain below: for example, 25 HSBC points = 1 Marriott point RM 400 - 500 stays at the Marriott hotels easily need at least 13,000 Marriott points. This means I need 325,000 HSBC points. Assuming I only spend on dining, then I need RM65,000 in dining spend (5 HSBC points = RM 1). FYI: 21 HSBC points = 1 Enrich points. feel free to correct me if wrong or share what is best to convert into |

QUOTE(ericlaiys @ Nov 14 2024, 04:28 PM) for those using applepay or googlepay for hsbc cc. You will only get 1x point. even you are suppose to get 8x - oversea, 5x online spend or 5x shopping. Those additional points will be given at the end of the billing cycle. Please take note. In another word, applepay/ googlepay is useless as only get 1x. i just had an arguement with cs . Even i spend on retail shopping, suppose to get 5x but due to i make a mistake by paying using applepay. |

QUOTE(francis226 @ Nov 14 2024, 05:53 PM) Is this stated in T&C? Your card scores air miles, unlike the other cards that gets points. Those getting points will get only one point immediately, the other multiple points will only be awarded at the end of the billing cycle based on the set limitations and capping.I use Premier Travel, checked T&C and points rewarded, no difference paying with applepay francis226 liked this post

QUOTE(ericlaiys @ Nov 14 2024, 06:57 PM) well i already got statement and end of billing cycle. I 've spend 1k on retail shop and pay using applepay. Statement showed only 1k point but no bonus point. I think you could be right. I read back the wordings used. MMC code is verified it is retail and entitled for 5x but due to payment used. (refer my above screenshot). that's what the end result told by cs. They advise me dont use apple pay as dont count as 5x shopping or 5x online shopping. It count as 1x as other. final conclusion is coz i use applepay. lesson learned - must use physical card on retail shop. Use latest technology but get low benefit. I was surprise. Today suddenly i've decided to check my point on statement received. Not many transactions that why easy to calculate For the signature it says shopping. I was reading earlier on the premier Mastercard. It says contactless usage. I learned something new today. I also have the signature card. They are going to loose many customers. But I guess their business focus has changed. If you are one that is likely to cancel due to the fees, then you are not their target customer they want to retain. Minimum income requirements have changed too. It’s flat across all card types. Annually over 100k.
