some query on this card: HSBC Amanah MPower Visa Platinum Credit Card‐i
1) for petrol spends, if i swipe at petrol dispenser or petrol station cashier counter, doesn't matter right? both also will be accumulated as in the (3% or 8%) counter ? 2) as long as my spendings in (petrol / dining / grocery) is exceeding RM2000.00, then the my rebate for weekend spendings will be 8%? -- will be 0.2% instead? 3) those spendings not falls under #2, will not be entitled for any rebate or accumulation of (3%/8%) right? example: weekday petrol at shell RM1500.00 weekend petrol at shell RM800.00 =========== so in total i will get 800*8% = RM64.00 for the cash rebate? thanks in advance! |

On the other hand, Maximum Cash Capping/ Month for MPower Visa is RM50/ Month.1) for petrol spends, if i swipe at petrol dispenser or petrol station cashier counter, doesn't matter right? both also will be accumulated as in the (3% or 8%) counter ? 2) as long as my spendings in (petrol / dining / grocery) is exceeding RM2000.00, then the my rebate for weekend spendings will be 8%? -- will be 0.2% instead? 3) those spendings not falls under #2, will not be entitled for any rebate or accumulation of (3%/8%) right? example: weekday petrol at shell RM1500.00 weekend petrol at shell RM800.00 =========== so in total i will get 800*8% = RM64.00 for the cash rebate? thanks in advance! |

Guys,
I received this text from 66600 a few days ago. Not sure what to make of it. "RM0.00 From HSBC : Yr statement for credit card ending 0xxx is being delivered. Statement balance:RM 19,444.94. Min Amt Due:RM 19,444.94 by 19/06/2015" I've never been an HSBC card user before plus I'm still waiting for a call for my application (Z3 promo) which I've submitted since the 19th. Any ideas? |

QUOTE(Ya Rerd @ Jun 1 2015, 10:24 PM) Guys, Doubtful. How can minimum amount due is equal to your statement balance? Usually it's 5% from your total bill. So in order to maximize the rebate, you want to swipe as much as possible during weekend within the selected categories, eg swipe all RM2000, entitled 8%, rebate RM100, effective rebate is 5% only.so other retail expenses can be accumulated in the RM2000.00 pool and thus weekend spending can upgrade from 3% to 8% Or Swipe RM1250 within the categories during weekend, the balance RM750 outside the categories = (RM1250 * 8%) + (RM750 * 0.2%) = RM100 + RM1.50, effective rebate is about 5.075%? Please correct me if Im wrong here. |

My experience is you need to spend RM2100 each month to get 8%. Because the RM100 rebate from previous month is not included. Eg if you spend RM2000 in May, but you get rebate RM100(for rebates on March).,then your spending is only 1900. Rebates become 3%. To be safe, spend RM 2100 each month.Or Swipe RM1250 within the categories during weekend, the balance RM750 outside the categories = (RM1250 * 8%) + (RM750 * 0.2%) = RM100 + RM1.50, effective rebate is about 5.075%? That doesn't make sense, the rebate should not be calculated into the monthly spending, ie offset the total spending right? If I spend RM2000 and get RM100 every month, can the bank say I only spend RM1900 per month? |
