The payout should be some time in December, if hsbc really diligently follows their own T&C, no?

Yeah I can't deny that fact when dealing with hsbc. Unless someone has some plan to spend big.

Wondering about using posonline to pay Aeon cc for this. Seems like it falls on some grey area by reading the tnc even though it's an online transaction. But who knows hsbc tag it as utilities.

I generally don't like to participate in HSBC's promotions, because payout is slow and T&C are quite hard to predict (unlike PBB or HLB). Plus, the credit cards themselves don't seem to offer a lot of cashback, so taking part in the promo is a risk, because you may get very little return. By the time December comes, I will have forgotten my spending, and may even have cancelled the card!

Couldn't agree more. Well I will just try my luck then since other cards' cb are maxed out already. Plus point is just I get to delay Aeon dues a bit.

The only risk is POS Online's 2% service charge. Please update us in December if / when cashback comes in! rclxm9.gif

In other news, I just called to cancel my HSBC credit card, but the retention people offered me RM50 if I spend RM200 (on anything). Of course I took up the offer, but intend to cancel once the RM50 comes in.

Will wait a few months, check if any good RinggitPlus promotions, then reapply as a new customer!

Good offer you got there. You spent much on this card?

Not at all. Applied for this card over 1 year ago (July 2015) and received Apple TV from Ringgitplus.com. Total spending over 1 year is only 8K max. Total cashback I received including promo is RM225. Overall very low usage unless promo or all other cards exhausted.

Thanks! I don't see any point keeping this card too. Shall call to cancel soon and hoping their retention team gets back to me as there's nothing to lose. smile.gif

Call in is easiest. They are likely to pass you to retention team who MAY give you an offer to stay on (e.g. cashback with minimum spending). Sometimes its worth it.

I am not as lucky, Hsbc din even give me a chance to call the retention dept, and straight away send me a msg saying my coming AF is waived. So no chance of getting the rm50. tongue.gif
