I guess one way to get around the spend criteria is to charge something to IPP...?

Maybe they can still waive by contacting them? Just no more auto waive similar to Alliance.

Really? Then they managed to make it look very metal...

Will try to ask my RM about this anyway... see what they say...
Confirmed plastic card... Replacement is RM 50 (if you don't "need" a replacement and saja want to get the new design).

Thank you for the update mate.

I will be surely will be canceling as i dont spend much on this card, Visa Signature.

Just to ask you guys opinion, i say my service tax was charged in July2025. Which i think is my annual cycle month.
So if i want to cancel, should i wait till next year June and cancel? Or i should just cancel now?
What you guys think?

Errmm...sounds right.

Anyone using Amanah Premier World Master card? It seem a better option without annual fee for now.

So far I never hit the spending threshold, seldom uses the card but still get the annual fee waiver every year. Don't quote me but I think it is possible to get it if you give them a call.

Worse case you can just cancel the card if they refuse to waive, just make sure you don't use the card after the annual fee is charged to your card.

This year dont allow waive if didnt hit spending threshold. I called, even cancel also need to pay off the annual fee

If you didn't spend after the AF is charged, then can ask them to cancel but it could be a long battle with them. Unlike other banks which will agree to write off, not for HSBC though. They insisted me to pay for it and I refused, wrote a complaint email ding dong for a few months and only got resolved. During that period, my CCRIS was already "1" due to no payment and charged with interest. Eventually, they agreed to waive it off and cancel my card, this whole card was removed from CCRIS with the "1" as well.

This is very scary. Is it better if we just cancel the card before the card anniversary date?

I have the VS card and I just saw that the AF is RM600.

For HSBC, I would say yes, cancel before AF is charged. Else the pain is never ending.

yes, they have no mercy on annual fees, i misplaced my card both vs & mpower, and freeze both cards, and i asked for their waiver, but non nego. so i marked calendar for the next year annual fees, awaiting the day i cleared all my BT & Installment plans hopefully before the due date, and kiss them goodbye.
