Is it true the HSBC Premier Travel Credit Card is only reserved for those with AUM of RM 3,000,000 above with the bank?
*
Yes previously it was available for HSBC Premier customers, but now they changed it to HSBC Premier Elite only, which requires AUM of 3 mil.

My HSBC cards are not actively used, and I only have VS all these years, but I added T1 last year. So, my VS has just been charged with AF and SST. I have had the card for 7 years but have been getting SST cash back and an AF waiver. I get an auto AF waiver for some years, but some years, I don't, and I have to call them, but it is still being approved. I don't get it this year, so it is pending their approval/rejection. I will know within 3-5 working days. As for SST cash back, it has been granted with any 3x spending within 60 days. Anyway, if there is no AF waiver, I will proceed to cancel it.

Is T1 worth adding? I looked at the benefit and see nothing attractive. Is there something I missed?

Nope, if I don't use the card anymore after AF is charged. If I use, then I need to beg banks for that. biggrin.gif

You mean for my case? No... I didn't use anything so shouldn't ask me to pay.

I didn't get any feedback for my AF, so I made a call to them to check on the status again. My AF waiver was not granted, but I didn't get any feedback despite the fact that they already got the notification on the 13th itself. doh.gif I wasted my time waiting. She asked me to pay for the outstanding AF+SST of RM 625; I insisted I wouldn't pay because if I didn't spend anything and only these charges were charged, I wanted to cancel the card. So, she said she would put in a request and need to wait for 3-5 working days again.

Anyway, one of the verification questions from the CS asked me to tell her my online banking username. sweat.gif I thought banks had been promoting the practice of not sharing our username or password with anyone, yet HSBC sets this as one of the questions. I insisted she change another question because I wouldn't answer it. laugh.gif She proceeded with another question. I'm surprised that HSBC is asking this.

HSBC is due to announce changes to the Advance Visa Plat card (diff from the existing silver Visa Plat card) tomorrow, not sure if this card will also be rebranded or it will be a brand new card coming soon

https://ringgitplus.com/en/blog/credit-card...redit-card.html

Looking at previous record with Travel One card, it is a possibility that it will be announced for MY too

That is strange. Never had that as a security challenge question ever. HSBC used to have the call centre offshore and they moved the calls back after a lot of problems.

Same here. My first time as well, never had from any other banks too. Totally an absurd. How can we reveal this information to them? sweat.gif
