Not really, this depends on branch.
Last time, one BR branch officer told me one of their their top FDs was RM 40K..

I think this is normal.
Malaysian FDs are aiming for Chinese & Indian market.
Bumi do not need FD because they have better options....

Ah Sir Ah Goat & Double Magic, I just called to KWSP, the operator (quite friendly) said:
if submit check to self contribution account, it will take within 7 days to clear the check,
and if submit cash, it will take within 3 days to "clear" the cash.

Double Magic is right, we will get 1 day interest for the month that we submit payment,
then next month will get full month interest.

Personally I won't be bothered with the 3/7 days for the money to earn interest for us. Long term wise we are getting more returns as what current trend shows.

I heard Bumi saving account in post office can get more than 7% p.a.

A bank manager told me, bumi can make free money, get personal loan at 5% rate from
bank to buy government bond to earn 9%, net profit 4%.
But this process will take about 10 to 15 years to receive the profit, but it is still free money..

Yes, you're right on both counts.

When I self-contribute by cheque, it took 7 working days (Cheque which was deposited at EPF, Jln Gasing branch counter on Sep 10 (Wed) was credited on Sep 19).

However, when deposited through maybank2u, it took only 1 working day:-
Oct 17 (Fri) deposit was credited on Oct 20 (Mon).
Oct 30 (Thu) deposit was credited on Oct 31 (Fri).
Jan 29 (Thu) deposit was credited on Jan 30 (Fri).

But m2u has a RM5K daily limit!

Actually I should be more thick face & ask if got hampers or essence of chicken though even to get the cup & umbrella I must be in their selected list, must be their budget is low for that branch.
