Since bbgoat & co from Penang got hampers from Bank Rakyat I decided to try my luck today in PJ.
Though did not get hamper but still got an Xclusive umbrella & ceramic cup with cover.

I dont think all banks operate that way to define fresh fund.

then how do the banks define as fresh fund? bring hard cash?

With CPI at record low 1%, it is virtually almost zero chance that OPR going to be raised at near term.

With promotion rate at over 4%+, it is something "peak" for FD already for near term.

I think max banks can go now is 4.5%.. More than that is very risky & could "hurt" the bank 

that's why u see only 4.5% not 4.8% or 5% 

All the banks are making billions of profit every year...surely an increase of 0.3% or 0.5% wont hurt their bottom line. The question which bank will step up their game to fight for our money?

As I mentioned, the leng lui confirmed again today (you gave me excuse to talk to the leng lui  ), that the Islamic FD 15 mth 4.5% is available. Min 5k, until 31/3. Please note Islamic FD, the conventional one was ended last Friday.

Today I was in CB to get new notes and to place 1 month 9.18% FD.    Then one month later to move to SCB 15 mth 4.5%.   

Actually my RM is a leng chai. But this guy is more difficult to get on the phone. Give me more excuse to talk to the leng lui.
