Am a bit confused. Have a question on HSBC advance customer. Is there a minimum sum that we have to deposit to become an advanced customer (just like PB customer) or is it that just by opening a $5 current account, we can be advance customer? Thought I ever read somewhere that we have to maintain a fairly large sum to be considered 'advanced' customer but then below quote from BoomChaCha seems to indicate otherwise. Appreciate some help on this. Thanks

Minimum RM 5K, maximum RM 30K
Min RM 5 to open a current account (Advance)

Ah Sir, unfortunately.. Ringgit Plus said this cannot be done like this, close account also no use.
Only new customers can participate to entitle for the gift..  sad.gif

Ah Boom Sir, I was joking with the forummer as he was suggesting to close acct and re-join. For me, no way as I have FD there which do NOT want to do pre-mature closure anyway. tongue.gif

This one okay or not?

This one is good for loan:

Ah Sir.. I see.. biggrin.gif

I was worried UOB would close my FD account because I did not place FD with UOB for a long time.
It is so troublesome to re-open a FD account (for example like photostatting IC.. sweat.gif ).
So few weeks ago, I put minimum RM 500 at FD board rate 3.3% for 1 year with auto renew.

Great idea, I should follow your tip. How long was your FD account without any FD before you start with this RM500 trick?

Do you have any saving or current account with UOB?

I think more than 6 months since the last time I withdrew my last UOB promo FD.
According to UOB, UOB FD accounts will close if no FD for more than 6 months.

I think I will do the same to OCBC too.. hmm.gif

No, I do not have UOB saving or current account.

But we have to renew the FD & CASA within 7 years;
otherwise our monies will send to bank negara.. sweat.gif

Affin Bank FD 4.33% for 15 months. Minimum RM10k

QUOTE(Ramjade @ May 26 2015, 11:31 AM)
Same stuff like last time. Open normal account. Cause I think they will deposit your internet interest and principle inside there  after 15 months
*
So, will the FD interest be paid upon the FD maturity? So, it is not the case in which the interest is paid after 6 months, 12 months and 15 months?

And, can we ask for the rate higher than 4.33 %, only if we place an amount much higher than RM 10k, right?

Last time I asked, they said only if more than 6 mths no new FD placed, then acct will be closed. biggrin.gif

You do not have SA in UOB ? hmm.gif

Need SA in UOB for those FD promo that pays 6 mthly interest (last year Oct promo). Also I was told if we need to do RENTAS or OTC IBG, need SA (probably as a bridge). biggrin.gif

Affin. 4.33%. Just when their 2 years promo 4.38% finish, they come out with 15 months 4.33%. Some more protected by PIDM. rclxms.gif icon_idea.gif

Wah bro. don't know wei. unsure.gif Good enough for me if they tell me 4.33% without stupid CASA stuff. I just put. Never ask them anything else or request for more. I am guessing is like all previous promo, affin will credit the interest + principal into your affin bank saving account.

If you have large amt to place for FD, can always ask for higher rates. The "large" amt will differ based on the banks, the tenure etc. biggrin.gif

100k is good enough to increase the rate by 0.05%, 0.1% p.a if lucky

For BR, 50k and above can nego. But at one time, they set it at 100k and above. So depends on how bad the bank wanted the FD. biggrin.gif Their nego rate also depends on the tenure. smile.gif

For other banks, may be 100k or few hundred k then only can nego. Sometimes they may tell you this is already the best rate, no more increase possible though you put in 300k and above. biggrin.gif

But you can always ask, no harm ! biggrin.gif
