It is just a wishful thinking for now. Still, Affin's 4.33% FD interest rate is quite good.

but ASG is cousin of the famous ASB, which provides constant annual return of 6% and above for past 10 years, which is about as good as EPF
*
Incorrect as ASB is a fixed price -v- ASG a variable price fund

In general, that is a good point. FD and UT to be separate.

For me, already own ASG, so went in to get the FD deal and top up on ASG.  rclxms.gif

Banks offer high FD rate in order to entice depositors to take up UT products

Huh? Since when? Once you put for that specific term, the bank will honour the rate when you put regardless whether OPR goes up or down
*
Agreed as the FD cert just show 4.33% pa for 15 months only without any remarks which indicate interest rate is subject to change when there is changes in OPR
