What's that? A plaque?

Yesterday I placed a rm50k fd at UOB but didn't receive this gift. Unless the quantum's below the threshold limit, how do I claim it? TQ smile.gif

I deposited banker's check to KWSP counter on 24 Feb 2015, and it was only credited
to my EPF account on 5 March 2015  mad.gif
I alerted you earlier that payment by a cheque to EPF will take 7 working days to clear, & 24/2 to 5/3 is 7 working days.

QUOTE(giko @ Feb 25 2015, 11:15 AM)
I don't think your chq will clear by 27 Feb (28 Feb being a non-banking day) as it takes, per EPF "ruling", 7 working days to credit your a/c. You'll be credited on 5 Mar, I think.
we've also established that payment by cash (but max. of RM10K, OTC @ EPF) or thru m2u only takes 1 working day to clear.

QUOTE(giko @ Feb 26 2015, 09:40 AM)
Just to clarify the EPF self contribution thingy:-

1. Maybank2u sets a RM5K limit per transaction, not daily limit as I initially thought, and as rightly pointed out by diablo2, we can transact 12 times for each RM5K, on the very same day, to achieve the RM60K limit:-
2. MBB cheques of more then RM5K can now be made to EPF - I've done this last year.
3. EPF has set a RM5K daily limit for cash deposited OTC. However the m2u RM5K x 12 times can easily override this!
4. For both cash & m2u deposits, the EPF "clearance" date is the next working/banking day. However a cheque payment to EPF will take 7 working days to "clear".
5. It has been established that the dividend for any deposit made during the month starts on the very last day of that month, provided the next/7 working days "clearance" is within that month.
So after the maximum RM60K EPF self-contribution, it's now onto SSPN (or PTPTN) max dep of RM6K, mainly for the tax relief but the 4+% interest does help too...  smile.gif

Bad experience with MBB 2 yrs ago. Do they now accept 60k in one KWSP deposit slip ?

If by cheque how many days to show in KWSP ?  hmm.gif

2. MBB cheques of more then RM5K can now be made payable to EPF. However a cheque payment to EPF will take 7 working days to "clear".

3. For both cash & m2u deposits, the EPF "clearance" date is the next working/banking day.

So if OTC in MBB, we can use a cheque of 60k and just fill in a single form to deposit the 60k ?
Haven't tried this @ MBB OTC as I find using m2u, although 12 times, is much easier but EPF's OTC accepted my MBB cheque of more than RM5,000 last year.

Cheers... biggrin.gif

Thanks for the info. Was not aware of the proviso of 7 days.... does this mean the 'best' day to make a contribution would be 7(+1 day for buffer ) working day of calendar month?
yes, your 7+1 working days for the cheque method will work - remember working/banking days only. better still, transfer thru maybank2u or other online banking methods, which will take only one working day.

the 7 days is for cheque clearance? I thought it meant an additional  7 days after system records receipt of payment  ie. if say transfer from M2U on 29/3 , EPF records receipt on 30/3. Interest for this EPF contributions starts wef 1/4/15?

I  tot it meant -

i) from M2U - last day to bank in will be 22/3
2) via cheque - 15/3
1. M2U on 29/3 (Sun) should clear by 31/3 & interest starts 31/3, I think as 29/3 is a Sunday.

2. to be on the safe side, last day for m2u this month should be 27/3 (Fri), clears on 30/3 & interest starts 31/3.

3. by cheque, last day should be 19/3 (Thu), clears by 30/3 & interest starts 31/3.

cheers smile.gif

Well, have to be careful at Uptown as I do see tow trucks there quite often. I have seen them towing cars parked on the yellow line next to 7-eleven & near UOB bank too. I even heard of cars being towed away at Cyberjaya where roads there are so wide!  shakehead.gif so ya, is a good business.
can alway come to SCB, TTDI, Jln Burhannuddin Helmi where there's no towing unless your car don't have road tax!

only summons at yellow line but can also park at housing areas opposite or at the back of the bank.

cheers biggrin.gif
