And i wanna ask abt the SCB+ Prudential savings plan also, basically monthly need deposit rm470, for a period of 10 years, totalling rm56k, then after tenth year, no need deposit anymore, just keep getting the "surviving benefit = interests"

is it worth it?

If you want to play hard, file a complaint to Bank Negara. It would be easy for you this time as I already made a similar complaint last time. I did not deposited the RM1500 but you did so your case is worse. Fyi, I was compensated by the bank.

To answer your question, the Justone acc can be opened with zero deposit.

This is a Fixed Deposit thread, we give no comment on unit trust, saving plans, etc.
Feel free to ask this on saving plans thread out there,
as there are a loads of insurance agents willing to "help" you. brows.gif

Ah Goat Sir,
I have nobody to call since my previous RM left SCB last year December.

But anyway, the service level of SCB RM (the same as OCBC) is based on if we buy
any investment products from them or not; in other words, we will get good service
from RM if we buy investment products; otherwise, no service...  sad.gif

For example like SCB's Bonus Saving promo, this promo is quite attractive to me but the
T&C are very very confusing, and only RM can explain the T&C. So for my case, I have to
study the T&C by myself.

About to fix no interest issue, I called to SCB help line yesterday, the leng chai asked me
to talk to branch..
I have the shortie branch manager mobile phone number, but he never pick-up calls.
So, it seems I have to visit the branch which is far away from my place..

I did a google search for SCB retrenchment, and accidentally found this on lowyat:

Start of recession?, Standard chartered Malaysia retrenching

Haha, Ah Boom Ah Sir !

Though SCB is offering the best rate of 15 mth 4.5%, I did have some portion of my eggs there. But still need to be careful and have spread some eggs to OCBC and elsewhere.

One leng lui who used to serve me before I join their PB seemed to be gone. She has been asking me to give her 10 points when someone called asking about her service. Then few weeks ago their CSR did call and I gave her 10 points. But it looks to me she is no longer with SCB any more.

I believe SCB is still strong. This interest crediting issue hopefully they can get it settled soon. biggrin.gif

okok, sorry for that ya smile.gif

Oh, the PRUhorizon, actually I know how it works, but not sure whether I should or not, but after contemplating for some while, I've decided not to take up that plan
since it will take too long time (around 11 yrs + to get back only the capital)

Better use SCB online banking to check your money and interest...
Our SCB FDs that not receiving interest are 4.25% for 15 months.
Thank you for checking
Thanks for the update....  thumbup.gif
It is unbelievable and quite bad for a bank to have mistake like this; SCB should compensate
for our loss of daily interest... mad.gif    Otherwise...  bruce.gif

It is shocking but the level of quality here is so bad it becomes 'acceptable', some shocking experiences i encountered:
1. My terminated broadband with Digi suddenly starts charging me again.
2. When I was at Digi centre, a corporate client complained of so much dubious billing until the lines got suspended!
3. Ambank double charge me on some transactions amounting to RM1000+
4. Bank Rakyat did not credit my monthly FD interest

All this was due to system problems & they don't even bother to pre-inform the customers or be terribly sorry or provide some compensation.

So in summary we always need to be vigilant & check (not sure if such things ever happen in other countries)

There is a reason, why some banks/company are more reputable than another due to the service quality and why they have large base on loyal customer/depositor.
