For hobby tools your Tool Box in Hardware shop would be better.

This one is more for keeping cars & small parts as that is how the upper deck is designed for.

just ordered 2 kits. i'm not a 4x4 racer but i bought the most powderful dash engine anyway. price not much difference from the tune versions.

hope the car won't run away.

can the original gear & drive shaft support that kind of power?

also bought a Torque tune engine for the Oversized Wheel Jeep.

wanted to buy Lunch Box but sold out...

Hi everyone,

I'm new here.

I'm looking for advice and recommendation where i can get my Tamiya Plasma Dash motor an upgrade or modification so that it can be more powerful.

It's for my school AEV competition.

Any advice is much appreciated.
Thank you!!

Hi guys

Has anyone ever tried powering their tamiya motors via usb? Like a powerbank or something? Can be done n will spin fast? Will the motor burn?

I need to make a really really really strong suction fan powered by usb powerbank n i can only think of tamiya motors...but they r rated at 3v

Cant seem to find much 5v motors out there
*
better buy a USB fan rm10 only. they aren't meant for constant running.

waaaaaaayyyyy too weak...

as i mentioned, i need really really strong suction fan to be powered off a powerbank.

they wont be running constantly... at max 5 mins at a time i guess.
*
how big is the fan. you understand those motor are tiny? to run a big fan efficiently the motor will have to rev really high. also the motor is not designed to drive heavy objects. i think the spec has their maximum load.

size off fan blades yet to be determined... this is gonna be a DIY project.. so i might end up making the blades out of aluminium soda cans to keep the weight down...or ill use the fan blades from a 12cm or 8cm...depending

yes i know they are tiny.. but they are the only motors i can think of that require low voltage but spins really fast. im just worried that the 5v will burn them
*
to connect the motor to a USB you would need some wiring, so you just need to add some resistor to bring the voltage down from 5V to 3V.

wiring i have...good idea about the resistor thing.. will look into that.

still wondering about direct connection though

if you run 5V on something designed for 3V, you think will run well?

Resistance starter pack only rm10 from China. comes with many ohms.

Plasma Dash not very good unless you have high powered batteries. i can only get it up to 38km/h on highest gear with 2000mA rechargeable. i used cheap Daiso batteries it can only go up to 25km/h.

Hi guys, I just bought a stock tamiya festa jaune MA chassis. Was looking for a place to take it for a spin.
Beside tamiya underground in 1u, is there any other place with a track in KL?

Appreciate the feedback guys

so i need eneloop for it lah
*
you need Eneloop Pro, but still not high capacity enough.

normal Eneloop 2000mA definitely not enough since i used it.

it needs something like 4200mAh to achieve it's full potential.

that is why many people claims Plasma Dash is not as fast as other motors like Ultra Dash.

apart from lazada. can u recommend any shop or reseller for that.
*
i bought the eneloop few years ago, before they had lite & pro, so i never looked into them.

but i used to buy from Singapore online seller. but now currency is high, but never know might still be cheaper since price in Malaysia is seriously inflated.

for example i can buy the x8 AA battery set for less than rm100. here x4AA already close to rm80 last time.

https://www.lazada.com.my/panasonic-eneloop....7c5a5ec0P5smGT

http://www.11street.my/productdetail/panas...550mah-16698870

i don't know the charger that comes bundled with them but i have a Sanyo charger that has 4 slots (x2quick charge AA + x2 AA/AAA slots) with individual Lights and a "Refresh function".

my charger is NC-MQR03RN but it's old design new one LED is color changing.

thanks. i prefer the actual shop where i could test and pay cash. but if there's no option for it. then this probably the best that i could do. thanks. ya. btw i mount the dash on Jimny Wide  tongue.gif

physical shop just go Harvey Norman, Tesco etc, but price won't be cheap.

the batteries are packed in sealed package so most shops won't let you test 1st. and the batteries come precharged at around 70% and is not fully charge. the quick charge aren't that quick so still needs time to charge at shop.

seems Refresh Charger aren't easily available now but the new color changing LED are nice.

I've a few old models and spare parts such as gears and tires to be sold off, is it worth selling?

unless it's discontinued item i don't think easy coz new parts aren't that expensive. and for the old cars Tamiya rereleased them in gift box sets.
