1. poly cowl.
i assume if i want anodized blue effect, i need to spray some blue or clear blue paint first, then finish with silver paint.
2. even with normal masking tape i'm still very noob, how to use liquid masking tape already?

1. achieving anodized (metalized) effect on poly cowl is very easy since the poly cowl itself is already in a high gloss finish. if done on hard covers, it's really hard. you'll be needing airbrush and chroming powder. buffing. etc. a pain, I'd say.
anyway my secret recipe (which is not so secretive) is to use PS-48 underneath a layer of clear blue. there's 2 shades of clear blue by Tamiya for PS. PS38 Translucent Blue and PS39 Translucent Light Blue.
the first part is the trickiest part, spraying the clears.
the more you spray clears, the more opaque it becomes. getting just the right tint is tricky as Spraying 101 tells you to never spray in thick wet coats. always go with light mist. but if you can master this, then you shall be fine.
after a layer of clear (either PS38 or PS39), I like to use PS48. it's just my personal favourite. it gives a really nice shine when done right compared to other silvers namely PS-12 and PS-41
and then, finish it up with PS5, gloss black

it'll shine nicely like my green hawk

another alternative is to use PS 49 and back it up with PS5. but I prefer sticking with my recipe since I always have PS 48 in stock. lolz. and it's more satisfying to me, at least the result it. more of a personal preference. don't quote me on it
2. only Sonic have ventured into liquid masking. I know GSI Creos makes them. but I'm particularly looking for another brand which is thinner and easier to work with. though I have no luck finding it available on sale as for now
