omikron, imo we are gettin' and redistributin' the file at the same time with p2p.  Even if someone is willing to share copyrighted stuff with you, they would want you to visit their websites or something.

So I guess under fair use act they don't allow redistribution, if you don't get it from them in the first place.

Fair use Act is design for user of meterial. Doesn't care where you get it (that under icensing). It cover what you already have. Let discuss the legal stuff here. icon_rolleyes.gif

... subscribe but it has greatly improved my downloading speed. Instead of 2-3 kbps i am now getting about 40-50 kbps which may not be better than before the throtlling before but it definitely helps. ..

I guessing you get 1mb line. Are you getting that kind of speed for all you torrent file? How many transfer you run at the same time? I like to know your result since I'm using the same thing too. Cause my speed vary a lot.

in term or price http-tunnel is cheaper than relakks
for relakks u can use either l2tp or pptp connection
relakks connection can consider not that stable. sometime it will disconnect it self
maybe those using http-tunnel can give pro and con

If you plane to use Http-Tunnel for BT, the version 4.4 is the best. But this version does crashes. It usually crashes after 2 or 3 days of continues uses for me. No biggy I just restart the client then everyhting is fine.

Http-Tunnel doens't suppot UDP (yet). The DL speed of your torrent file depend of which server you connect to. They have 6 and you can't choose which one to connect to. If manage to connect to one that best for that perticular torrent file then you can get constant max speed till that file is done. If not at most you get is 60% of your max speed.

On average I manage to get 45% to 55% with speed spike up to 90+%. But still much better then <5kbs. sweat.gif

how is yr bt client setup
is it the same using relakks
from my understanding,
using http-tunnel, yr bt client need to used proxy setting 127.0.0.0:1080
am i correct?
but if using relakks no need to setup anything
just using yr current setting
*
yup. proxy set to 127.0.0.1:1080 and nothing else. I'm using utorrrent with it and it work with other BT client as well. But for me, BitComet didn't work so well. Is still better then without http-tunnel but not as good as utorrent.

It actually depends on ur torrent file, the max speed I got was 30Kbps on a 1Mbps line..dry.gif If this continues, I would have no other choice but to go all "V For Vendetta" on TMNet ph34r.gif and hold everyone in their HQ hostage bruce.gif You know the scene in Vendetta...release our line, or else flex.gif

Ha.. rclxms.gif If you can do that I think it be easier if you just re-write the shaping code on their throlling system. Re-write it to target tmnet's management personal only. nod.gif then we can all go have nice cheers.gif and see how they like their own medicine. tongue.gif

omikron could u perhaps state down the steps u did with utorrent and http-tunnel.. im getting stuck here dono wat to do

First of all I'm using the paid version, free one sucks.
Downlaod the Http-tunnel, run it, key in the key that they mail you, then run speed test 1st. You should run speed test 1st to see if you are connect properly. You should get something like this. Attached Image The number on high band are never correct for me. I can get up 90% of my speed even when the test says the max speed is <10kB/s.

Http-Tunnel must be running 1st b4 you run utorrent. The setup I did on utorrent was only add proxy and port. See Attached Image Socket 4 or 5 it doesn't matter now, since it has no UDP surport yet. I'm using socket 5 btw. Max 50 connection per torrrent.

For other bt client you might want to visit this place

Me also using the paid version on http-tunnel. But i didnt see it work on bt, cause my bt download speed not above than 20k ... majority below than 10k.. fxxx, i try using bitcomet and utorrent also same .. worse than without proxy ... can someone tell me is it my setting problem or http-tunnel not function well recently...
*
Strange rclxub.gif My usually above 20k sweat.gif I get 5-10k from a single US seeders. Check you http-tunnel log and diagnostic tab. Are you have a lot refuse connection in the log? How many active downstream do you have? I usually have about 25 active down and 30+ queues.

omikron, does http-tunnel encrypt everything (web surfing etc) or utorrent only?
*
It encrypt anything goes thru it. I only use it for BT but it can be use for web surfing and on-line game (bad idea) too. You have to set the proxy for your IE (or firefox, etc) first. smile.gif

For those of you who are using Relakks this might be good read and the reason why they were crappy not so long ago.

Relakks had a few problems shortly after their start due to the amount of users that registered the service right after it was introduced.

Thsi one is cool too smile.gif

Just like to ask something about the swiss-ip-account user (Relakks) tongue.gif

How is the server now? I read that they are doing major upgrade on thier hardware this month and they increase their bandwith by 5 times. Is it good now? Thinking of giving it a try in Dec.
