Please read my solution so far. The method was tried for two weeks now.

1. Always start torrent with random port (adjust forwarding accordingly). My method 10K (eg 12345) random port --> 20K (eg 23456) random --> 30K random --> 40K random --> 50K random --> 60K random --> 10K random cycle that with every torrent start/restart.

2. Check your ip for reference. If the torrent falls below speed from your obtain speed, disconnect and connect with different ip address. From my observation the throttle kicks in between 1-2 hours of speed bting. Monitor your international peer if you can download from them you good to go, but if not disconnect and reconnect with different ip.

3. Repeat step 1&2 if your bt falls below speed.

Hope this method can help. I'm on 512kbps and torrent speed if using this method will go between 50KBps-60KBps. If throttle kicks in the speed will go down to 30KBps-0KBps cry.gif . Client using utorrent beta (1.6.1). Please post your result.

Relakks encrypts all traffic, so there's no way.
You should find one with optional traffic encryption. smile.gif

The thing is that we normally leave BT running when we are away, therefore there is noway to monitor it and connect/disconnect to bypass the throttle. And for those who use router and port-forwarding, everytime we change the port number, the router have to be re-configure.

As I mention this solution is for people with time to monitored their bt process to achive speed bting. Unintended bting sure will be throttle down. For port forwarding i suggest use port range (10000-60000) for forwarding your bt but it will be unsecure to do this. Same goes if your using iptables for forwarding wide range of port it will make your linux/unix box unsecure.

My setup is on windows with utorrent client. Always have my dd-wrt setting page for port changing and connect/disconnet my pppoe. Modem is on bridge mode.

Last downloaded torrent with size of ~4G and satisfied with the result.

After i complaint they reply me these, but really hope they tell me when and how to get better .... cry.gif

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your feedback to TM Net.

Referring to your e-mail please be informed that prior to the
remarkable rise of P2P traffic recently, it has indiscriminately pushed onto the
maximum utilization of our network capacity, while on the other hand
proven to be utilized by only 20% of our total user.

Due to this, currently, bandwidth are not equally distributed amongst
DSL users upon file sharing applications and thus, resulting in a
reduced performance in P2P applications. Nevertheless, such exercise is not
exceptional, as some other non-local service provider has already been
doing this so as to manage the impact of P2P traffic on their network.

Regretfully, this approach can easily be positioned as unfavourable
amongst our subscriber, and we're truly aware of this. While this is not a
popular method of controlling Internet traffic, the fluctuation of the
connectivity will be considered as best effort basis. The problem may
surface and appear later depends on the condition of the NET. The
feedback received from your good self is very significant for us to improve
and again, this is actually how the service is wherever DSL technology
is offered on the other side of the world.

Should you require further assistance or would like to submit any
enquiry/feedback, kindly visit www.tm.net.my and click "Need Help? Contact
our Customer Service".

Thank you. doh.gif

Subject: FAQ on torrent speed ..

Hi,

I been experience terrible download speed and upload speed on Torrent
since last month, normally the torrent speed is around 100kb/s ~ 150kb/s
but something is wrong since last month because when i start the
torrent i get about 150kb/s and after 10minute or more the speed dropped to
around 5kb/s ~ 30kb/s .I need to know what happend to my ISP because i
already spent a big amount of money to change my network card and buy
new modem to increase the speed of torrent download but nothing changes.

On normal download FTP and HTTP download i get Maximun speed around
180kb/s but on torrent is 5kb to 30kb.

Thanks you in advance.

yes that is the same reply everyone got from tmnut. if you want a different answer, you will have to call them and yell at them or threaten to sue them, then they will tell you the true story of the p2p throttling.

For those who are having problems with S.IX, remember it's free and we're also fighting for bandwidth with greedy NA (Rogers Cable).
Those bastards manipulate S.IX till 200kb/s++ and they're not ****in satisfied...

Disconnect and reconnect (\/P|\|)
All will be good.

QUOTE(caminos @ Nov 30 2006, 02:23 AM)
I've been reading this thread with a lot of interest and I have to admit, I've been trying to crack the 'code' myself too. I find it extremely annoying though. First of all, I guess I'm frustrated because I'm simply not smart enough to crack it. But what riles me up is the fact that there are some of you on here who seemingly know the answer (the key word here is 'seemingly' - other than those who've purportedly cracked it, no one is sure that it actually works) but simply do not want to reveal it. Of course, that decision is entirely up to you. However, please don't hide behind this veil of fake sincerity and act all apologetic. Saying things like:

"sorry for being a little selfish...."
"people will figure it out sooner or later....... so, it's no use trying to hide it......."
"IMHO if you any of you are really serious in getting better BT speeds then you will be able to crack the code."
"As the old Malay saying goes, "Ndak seribu daya, tak ndak seribu dalih"."
"Fine, the solution already existed in lots of thread here in Lowyat.net just that you all need to experiment with it. You will find it eventually. Find the soloution and save the world err i mean the BT."
"PLEASE look at the pic carefully. I spent 45 minutes just to get it right so that it contains a hidden message, which, if you study carefully, will give you a clue as to how to solve the puzzle."

The truth is, you're probably just proud that you know a little trick to bypass traffic shaping and that it is not widely known yet. Fuelled by this sense of condescension and superiority, you're itchy to share the information but you need to make sure the credit goes to you and only you when people finally figure the trick out. Then you can go around and proclaim that while everyone else was staring at their computer screens in disappointment looking at download speeds of 3-5kB/s, you were downloading your stuff at blazing speeds, secure in the knowledge that you're somehow special and smart. If you honestly want to share it, you would've already done so. If you were selfish, you would be smart enough not to make a single hoot about it. Instead, for whatever perverse reason, you choose to let us have a hint that you figured something out, but won't let us in on the whole. Other than the aforementioned superiority complex, I don't see any other reason for this behaviour.

I admit, I would certainly like to know what this solution is that "needs time and dedication to execute". But not like this. The true solution to this problem is for TMnet to remove traffic shaping, or at least be transparent and make it publicly known that such policies are in place so that consumers are informed and can subsequently take the appropriate actions.

Meanwhile, to all those 'codemasters', well, kudos to you for finding this oh-so-secret solution, whether or not it truly exists. Enjoy your American TV shows, pirated software and Japanese cartoon porn. Perhaps take some time off occasionally and find yourself a girlfriend. The rest of us have real lives to live.

That was the most sour-graped rant I've probably heard in a while.
The code is intriguing and in some ways amusing, but really, you're not satisfied with a free VPN or Tuotu? Look who's greedy now.
