Agreed, most 5k's are nowhere near good. Played 3 games on AEL, I facepalmed. They were worst than my solo mmr game. If i draft, they couldn't execute the game plan because they have 0 game sense. If someone else draft, well their draft doesn't make any sense. At least in solo ranked, i get to practice whatever hero that i want.

Imo they should raise it to at least 5.5k. Players need to earn their place in the league. Players who want to play in AEL because they want to escape their solo mmr teammates have a weak mindset. You won't find new sumail or arteezy if you populate this type of players in the league.

Sorry for ranting here, i was expecting better experience from AEL, but what i get was the opposite.

I think i judged too early based on my first few game. My experience was quite good depending on who you get as captain/teammates. Only after my 3rd day i realized that nobody whine/flame in AEL. Everyone cooperates.

If you're a 4k player, you can get trial vouched into the league. They will let you play for 1 week. I guess my first few game was bad because i got these type of players as teammates. In my 2nd AEL game, my teammates dived pass t3 into fountain more than once. Imagine my disappointment, hence my ranting here.

The one game where i captained the team, we lost because of my fault too. My 4k carry asked me what item to buy, i told him "follow your guts." Rofl, i could have told him my preferred item build.

I believe my experience in AEL is going to get better when these trial for 4k players ends.

Earth Spirit is broken as fuck. In Europe they nicknamed this hero "ebola". Too many bullshit you can do with this hero. You can 3 or 4 man silence/stun your enemies and turn the teamfight into your favor. You can stun your enemies from miles away. Yesterday i learned that you can pull out your teammates trapped in disruptor's kinetic field, even force staff can't do that shit. Don't even get me started on the ulti, i guess that's where the nickname "ebola" came from.

This is true, but in the long run, your skill will outweigh your luck.

Playing better does not guarantee you a win, but it will increase your odds at winning. Sometimes you play perfectly in a game, but your teammates took away that victory from you, and sometimes you play like shit, but got carried to victory by your teammates. Sadly most players only remember the former. Our ego will always try to deny our incompetence. We keep telling ourselves that there is no luck involved when we win a game, but when we lose it all happened because of bad luck.

Winning and losing a single pub game always involve luck, but luck has nothing to do with gaining mmr and improving yourself as a player. Just like in poker games, good players will win in the long run. 50 wins and 40 loss will still net you 100 mmr gain. One year ago i couldn't even pass the 5.6k mark no matter how hard i try, but recently I managed to increase 400 mmr, from 5.7k to 6.1k playing "random only " on my alternate account.

Anything is possible in dota life.

I'm going to support pinoy teams for this TI5 qualifier. Both TNC and RAVE are my favorite. TBH i feel more connected to the struggles of Pinoy teams than some Malaysian teams. Let see how well TNC and MSKI perform on LAN without SG server disadvantage this weekend.

Today while watching mpgl and acg i got bored, so i went to dota 2 leaderboards website and compiled this list.


Conclusion:

Your strongest player should be the captain.
Your strongest player should play support.
Role carry bagi dekat player yang paling beban.

inb4 solo MMR means nothing.

FYI, Alohadance frequently watches his replay when he lose in solo mmr, but we come to reddit or lowyat and whine about our Pinoy teammates.
First time i saw him analyze his solo mmr replay on his stream, i was so fucking impressed. Who the fuck does that?

You can achieve 6k with any role. Most players in the list achieved their mmr by only playing their role.
You can even play random or first pick only to 6k. 95% of my games in the last 4 months were first/second pick. Occasionally when i was on losing streak, i'll go last pick and went raidboss mode(or get raped and went fulltilt mode).
