Traveling to Shanghai opened up my eyes to how beautiful it is, a really good mix of old and ultra modern. A real melting pot of culture!

Here are some snippets of my travel shots. If you'd like to see the entire collection, please do click on my signature at the bottom of the page smile.gif

I was at the Bund. So many people taking pictures there. Just that I didn't go to the edge of the walk way and decided to take the shot at a further distance away smile.gif

Of course tongue.gif There's no way you can get such an output straight out of the camera biggrin.gif

5 shot exposure stitched using HDR Efex Pro. Settings are -2EV, -1, 0, +0.7, +1.3 if I remember correctly.

Workflow is like this: Lens correction in Lightroom 5> Photoshop> HDR Efex Pro > Colour Efex Pro > Noiseware for Noise Reduction

Yes, usually 3 shots (-1,0,+1) is the normal procedure but if you notice the contrast between light and dark is too great, you maybe want to do like a 5 shot exposure. But bear in mind that the more pictures you stitch together (HDR), there would be much more noise. That's why I had to use Noiseware which is a really good Noise Reduction software smile.gif

I find that HDR Efex Pro is much easier to use compared to Photomattix Pro.

Settings are the same, ISO 100, choose a smaller aperture like f/8 or smaller.

I primarily use Lightroom 5 as well but I noticed using Color Efex Pro really gives the "pop" in the image. Very nice stuff indeed biggrin.gif

at night time using only ISO 100?? what about shutter speed? cause usually i have issue with taking this kind of photo cause usually either building with light look ok but building without light looks dark and vice versa..
what is EV-2 ?? so for 5 shot its 2 underexposed , 0 and then 2 overexposed?

Shutter speed varies from 5 to 10 seconds.

This is basically long exposure photography. And a tripod is a MUST.

PM me if you want to know about this further smile.gif

Hi guys, I wrote a blog post about my experience traveling to China. Some thoughts behind why I shot a certain picture that way smile.gif
