im not a religious person, and im not doubting the existence of haoxiongdi, and i withnessed it a few years back in a quite playground with no lighting facility , i saw this tyoe of see-saw while we went back from pasar malam, it moved up and down by itself, wind surely cant make it move , then my sister father in law(he was a ji tong) say in funny tone( hey you stop playing la), then the see-saw stopped moving inches by inches and it stopped completely.

QUOTE(davincidaze @ Sep 27 2022, 09:06 AM) Man, this forum has been so quiet compared to some years ago. but now, burning joss paper and incense seems like this tradition would disappear year by year, i not sure will this tradition keep going for coming ages?Hell is most definitely a different time zone, since it is a different plane/universe. How long it takes for someone to re-incarnate depends on the acts they committed and how long it takes for them to pay their karmic debs in Hell. I'd also like to add that after death, you get a chance to have an attorney as well. There is no escaping of your karmic repercussions, but if you have committed misdeeds and charges are laid against you, you would like a defense attorney, right? This job is fulfilled by family/friends/relatives of the deceased; Which is why we burn joss paper and incense, offer candle lights and food/drinks, etc. Praying for the deceased can definitely help them in the afterlife. |

QUOTE(empire @ Oct 4 2022, 12:18 PM) my 4 nephews all in their 20's took over the role of burrning joss papers for more than 5 years. They said they will continue to honour this tradition and pass on to their kids later. thats nice to know, im lazy , and i only visit to temple when got god celebration, but i think it helps to conserve it even a small effort, right?oh yeah btw, a youtuber called ah jie did a great job in promoting our tradition in belief! empire liked this post
