I'm a firm believer in Yin Yang, white & black, pros & cons, Gods & Devils, etc
I notice that this thread is more focused on Hell deities than Heaven deities. Perhaps there can be more discussion on Heaven deities, or should I start a new thread on that. Problem is I know very little of such things ... but am keen to know more. |

San Qing, that wld be the Three Pure Ones? Have heard of them, but yes, are they even in temples? Maybe the famous Ipoh Sam Poh Toong?
Jade Emperor wld be Yook Wong Tai Taei. Noticed that many temples are either Koon Yam (Guan Yin) miu or Guan Taei (General Guan) miu. Also some Monkey God temples. At home, most wld pray to Theen Kong (err .. Sky Deity?) And Taei Chue Kong (Earth Deity?) And Koon Yam. QUOTE(nachtsider @ Sep 19 2017, 07:26 PM) The highest ranking are the trinity known as the San Qing, but in practice, they are hardly revered. Even the Jade Emperor, next in line, is pretty much there in temples and sintuas solely as a nominal presence to grant the place the necessary authority to operate. Sintua doctrine states that the higher ranking a deity, the less involved they become with mortal affairs, and therefore the less relevant they become. The highest ranking sintua deity who is worshipped on a widespread basis would be Guan Yin. |

"King of Ghosts" is mentioned several times here in English.
What is the Hokkien equivalent? And what is the Cantonese equivalent? Tq This post has been edited by conxtion: Apr 6 2020, 05:02 AM |

There are several Wang Ye among the deities.
Are they heavenly deities or hell deities? Where are the temples with Wang Ye deities in Klang Valley? (Googling doesn't help much, cos the Wang Ye may just be one of the many deities in a temple.) Tq This post has been edited by conxtion: Apr 6 2020, 05:11 AM |

The future is always in motion. What a deity can see at this moment can quickly change due to the actions of billions of people and non-people.
So, it's better don't ask too specific questions about the future. It's not that the deities are lying or have no power, but that the future is very fluid. |
