A medium typically stays in trance for a maximum of 2-3 hours.

The consequences include serious physical/mental injury, or even death.

This thing that occurs to your in-law - where does it happen, and under what circumstances?
*
Typically at home, not frequent, I've heard hubs talked about it once or twice, and it happens when we have serious discussions in the family.

One time the "voice" said "do you want to hear what i have to say?" then they shook her awake d.

I did not personally hear it, but that's what it was told by hubs.

Just to add on, when she is "Awake" she has no recollection what she said just a minute before.

My recommendation is to first seek medical and/or psychiatric advice.
*
If I hear it myself next time I will recommend that.

Possible split personality? blink.gif

Is it possible for normal person to go into "trance" like that or that is entirely something else?

A number of mental illnesses can present in such a fashion.

Dissociative identity disorder (split personalities) is one, but this condition is VERY rare.

I would first try to rule out a non-supernatural cause before casting suspicion on ghosts or other paranormal influences.
*
Will pay attention to the condition and see if got next occurence.

I try to utilise my emergency physician's practicality where it comes to dealing with problems of all sorts, including presentations that are apparently paranormal in nature. tongue.gif

Being bothered by ghosts can drive one into a depressive state or melancholy, yes. It can even make one suicidal, yes. But this is a resolvable state of emotional breakdown/upheaval rather than an actual diagnosis of mental illness. Indeed, such people usually do not tick all the boxes required for a diagnosis of the sort to be made; they would be classified sane if reviewed by a competent psychiatrist.
*
Mind to share any paranormal encounters when you work as an emergency doc? I'm sure many here will be interested to know, and to find out how you handle these incidents. innocent.gif

QUOTE(nachtsider @ Jul 6 2017, 11:54 PM)
The souls of those who die before their time, particularly those who fall victim to tragic accidents or violent incidents, often do end up earthbound, yes, although not always.

It is the trauma of their death and an inability to come to terms with their demise that weighs them down like an anchor, preventing them from 'spreading their wings' and leaving.

Moreover, dying before your time can result in the Hell deities not knowing that you are dead, and therefore not coming to collect you.

Given that one can only reincarnate or elevate to a higher realm after they have left this world for the next, this leaves the earthbound in a bit of a pickle.

Certain rituals can help to free the earthbound from their torment and help them cross over.
*
So in this case when the deseased asked the person in the article to get for her shoes and send her home, what can the person do? As you said the hell deities got to come collect the deseased.

Also, the part where the mirror is the gateway to hell, ada benar? Then I really should be wary of my mirrors in the toilet? sad.gif

What should be done is to notify the local Hell deities that there is an earthbound spirit at this particular location.

Ghosts cannot use physical objects; clearly she has still not come to terms with her death and is quite confused/distressed.

Gateways to Hell are not linked to any physical object.

I mean, come on - do you really expect a glass sheet made in China to have any supernatural qualities?
*
That's why I'm asking about the article ma, got truths and exeggeration of truths?

Why I'm asking about the mirror because the lady claimed to have seen a faceless lady in her bathroom toilet and therefore baru go find out what's wrong from a medium.

The Tow Boo Kong Temple which is one of the major festival locations where my families and friends will visit whenever there are any big occasions:

Lay buddhist society : where my sisters volunteer there regularly and that's how they met their other half hehe

Butterworth is really a very interesting place, much like Klang.

@nachtsider This was taken off google streetview, based on an image a couple years ago, it's outdated because when looking at my house in the view it doesn't have the awnings build up yet, we got it done more than a year already.

This location hasn't been painted red, but recently i went pass it is fully red, not sure why..

user posted image

And I noticed this does not say "tua yee pek" but after painted red it does say "Tua yee pek" with some flags you see during the 7th lunar month where people normally put on the streets tat type.
*
Dr. Nacht, I found an updated picture from google maps, it is in red for Tua li ya pek as I've mentioned before, previously painted to white, then to red.

You have mentioned before usually they do not use red, but this one does, why so?

Red is a Heavenly colour, not one normally associated with Hell deities.

The only reason I can think of that this place uses red is that there might also be Heavenly gods inside.
*
Every time go past there either during morning or evening it is always half open like this, so not sure which deity they are praying for inside.

No one will fault you.

I've stayed around that area since I was born, that house used to be someone's house, then one fine day when I went back hometown I noticed it became like this.

So to me it is still someone's house... blush.gif

That does indeed look like a Na Zha medium.

Na Zha mediums often wear robes of yellow, which corresponds to the Earth element and the Central cardinal direction.

What's that in the picture with the paper and drawn face?

These are substitutes.

Little paper effigies that are used to absorb individual devotees' misfortune in a special ritual.

After the misfortune is transferred from the devotee to the paper effigy, it is then burned.
*
How effective is this? It is not that commonly seen in temples, I think?
