Morning- 2 slice of bread with a cup of coffee

Lunch- 80% more on Mee and cut down on rice. Most important ngor drinks you ordered try to cut down on sugar for daily drinks.

Dinner- No rice and taking oat alternately (some daily if they want) and cut down on beer.

Supper- Hell NO to supper.
After all of this I lose 10kg and with continuously working out.
What I can say is discipline is very important of you want to be healthy.
*
Congrats on losing that 10kg. Good job there. thumbup.gif

From what I can see, should you wish to continue losing weight, it looks like you're gonna have to bite the bullet and truly eliminate more carbohydrates (mee, rice, beer). Otherwise, you are gonna hit a plateau and your weight won't budge anymore.

To add on to the post above, I guess it won’t hurt anyone to draw inspiration from athletes. I for one, love seeing cyclists (especially mountain bike ladies) in their tight lycras. Makes you appreciate all they had done to fit tightly into their sportswear and of course, their incredible fitness levels.

Hello everyone.
Signed up for gym membership yesterday it self. Wish to have workout partner to motivate me constantly.
*
Why need an external factor / person to motivate yourself? Isn’t the thought of acquiring back your own life and good health enough? Do it for yourself, not because you have a gym buddy who tags along with you.

I can’t comment on your heavy daily schedule but I can say with strong conviction to you to stay away from those weight loss pills and powder. They do nothing for you and me.

To lose weight, cardio is good but just cardio alone won’t do. Gotta mix it up with some weight lifting.

Thanks for the reply bro.. very very practical advise there... googling some HIIT exercises that can be done at home.. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif  I guess supplements/fat burners are really a waste of money huh..
*
One easy way to do HIIT at home is to get a stationary bike. Can easily get one for a few hundred RM. I do this for cardio and HIIT at home.

Damnn. Need to start to workout and control my food intake already.

Feb 2017 = 105kg
Aug 2017 = 73kg
Now 80kg.
*
You were doing well last year to reduce so much. What happened after Aug 2017? You just said “fuck it” and went back to your old heavy self?

Any successful cases for intermittent fasting? I tried and I failed. LOL

Worked for me. Did the 16:8 previously but now I’m on OMAD. Feels great. Hunger is there, just drink water to relieve it.

Oh gee...not to pooh-pooh the science of losing weight and getting fit, but damn man! Skimming quickly through what you have put up above is already giving me a headache and I did not even analyse your data yet. Surely getting fit and healthy can't be that tedious and bothersome?

To me, I don't bother to count calories and neither does Jeff Cavaliere (X-Athlean guy in YouTube). I do Intermittent Fasting 16/8 daily and I exercise cardio for two days and lift weights for another two days. Using that, I have lost my fat belly and am fit enough to go mountain biking.

So, my point is, no need to count calories to the extent you have portrayed above and find that magic number that you seem to be desperately seeking. Intermittent Fasting and exercise is the way to go. Good luck!

Thx for ur advice! Im practicing IF nw
*
All the best in your practice of IF. Don't know if you have done that before, but if you're struggling to hit 16 hours of fasting, then tone it down a little and start with 14 hours. Increase only when you feel you can. And when you have gotten better at IF, you may even hit 20/4. That would be OMAD (one meal a day) and you'll really really see the fat melting off your body by then. I kid you not.

I've heard that intermittent fasting is good for weight loss. Anyone have any experience on this to share?
*
Sure, I have been doing IF and in many forms. I’ve done the 16:8, 18:6, and even different variations of them. If you are new to fasting, you can just start with 13 hours of fasting in a day. Stretch longer when you know you can handle it.

That actually sounds quite easy to fit into my lifestyle. Did you feel like your weight loss plateau-ed after a while? I'm worried about gaining it all back when I go back to normal eating too.
*
In my case, when I feel bloated or weight gaining back, just restart the fast. In no time, you will feel better. And usually a person who has adopted fasting as a lifestyle, he is never too many days gone past without fasting. I may eat as per normal for two consecutive days but on the third, my body automatically tells me it needs to fast and I do.

That's great! I have some friends who told me that after 2-3 months they didn't lose anymore weight but they were still doing IF and didn't gain weight also. I never thought of IF for long-term, did it affect your social life not being able to eat with friends very much?
*
On those days when you must go out to socialise, just go ahead with that plan and don’t fast. You can always fast the next day.

IF is not a rigid regiment to me. I do it regularly but on those days when I have to eat supper, then I’ll just eat. But just remember to eat healthy food always.

Hi everyone, I just realized I'm obese after getting a free medical checkup from my first company. Most probably from all sitting during my final year project.

*
Gee, dude...you need to reduce the carbo and sugar from your daily diet. Your daily lunch and dinner has too much of rice and noodles. As an example, I only eat rice once a day (in kid's portion even) and sometimes, I avoid rice altogether for a couple of days. Same goes for noodles. Even meat I don't consume everyday. I eat a lot of vegetables and fruits.
And throw in some exercise while you are at it. 30 minutes for starters, and increase as you get fitter. A good diet may reduce the pounds of fat but you are still unfit and will start panting after climbing a flight of stairs. So, do some exercises too.

Wow congratulations. Good job. Since last Thursday done my first time 72 hours (Hybrid 41 hours Dry fasting and balance water fasting). Drop quite alot kg. Now 64kg from 84kg within 4 months. Still need to drop more (Target 50kg) before hitting all out gym. Want to get back my six packs  tongue.gif .

50kg? That is way tiny...! Will that be within your normal BMI? Cos I’m afraid you may fall sick due to extraordinarily low weight.

Any tips for starting IF (16:8)? and how to combat hunger at night (any possible cheat day)?  tongue.gif
*
If you have never fasted before, then don't start 16:8 immediately. Do a more manageable 12 hour fast first, and slowly increase the hours.

You will feel hungry. That's where your will power kicks on. In my case, to prevent hunger, I will make sure my last meal right before starting to fast includes protein (not shake, but meat-based or fish). But sometimes, I can do without meat even because I am so used to fasting and I rarely feel hungry.

Thinking of losing some weight, so wanting to choose between a treadmill or a recumbent bike as an exercise machine.

From my reading, running burns more calories but bike exerts less impact on the joints/body, therefore possibly prolonging the exercise time.

Any it pros & cons between the two? What about the rowing machine? Is it any good?
*
Bike or running? My answer is neither. To lose weight and tone up your body, lift weights.

Rowing is a great full-body exercise. Every part of your body gets a workout including joints. The only problem is the machine ain’t cheap and takes up quite some floor space.

QUOTE(cocoreo @ Nov 23 2020, 05:07 PM)
Hi, not sure if this is the right thread, as I'm not really trying to lose weight, just maintain and eat healthier.

I'm late 20s, female.
My BMI is 19.5, should be okay but I do wish I could have flat abs.
Doesnt really matter what I eat or don't eat, my weight is consistently 51kg+- (no exercise).

I have been trying to eat healthy, so is it okay to cut carbohydrates?
I used to have rice twice a day, or at least once a day.
My meals now are primarily chicken/meat, with lots of vegetables (most of the time stir-frying).
The portion is also small, I'm not a big eater.
I try to eat fruits daily too, either banana or apple once a day.

I still take rice or pasta, but only around 3-5 times a week.
Say if I had pasta for lunch, then dinner is only steak with vege.

I'm not really cutting down on sugar or fat.
I still have my coffee daily and use oil + seasonings.
I drink plain water between 1lit to 2lit daily.

Is this diet plan okay?
Is there anything I should add?
Is powdered milk okay daily?
*
There really isn’t much room to manoeuvre actually. Your BMI is good and at 51kg, there’s no point in going lower.

For a person who doesn’t exercise, one rice meal a day is fine. And what you are doing with the carbo is sufficient with your level of inactivity.

Perhaps I would up the fruit intake. I have two bananas, an apple and sometimes throw in an orange too — daily.

As for sugar and salt, guess it is always safe to say go slow on it. In my case, I totally cut out sugar and salt everyday. But that’s me.
