I usually go for my weight training after work and I don't feel hungry before or after the training. So I tend to skip my dinner but then I get hungry in the wee hours and can't get back to sleep. Just wondering if I should stop my weight training. Anyone experiencing the same?

Happens to me sometimes.
Take a slow digesting protein blend before bed to fix it.

seeing alot of people actually wanted to lose weight but question no 1, how much water do you drink, do you drink enough for your body to detox naturally?

Why do you need to detox when your body can already do those?

You need to drink water so that your body can carry out your toxin in the form of pee pee. biggrin.gif yes, body got detox function but it depends on what you eat and drink to assist the system to work properly and effectively...

for weight management, it is not only weight training but you need to have good and balance diet and consume food at the right time. skipping meals is a no no..

you are probably not hungry before and after training because you have trained you body biological clock on the eating time...

Hi all, sorry for jumping in this thread. I tried searching for "Treadmills" and was directed here.
I need an advice on which is a better brand for a House-use Fold-able Treadmill for running.
Price not more than 5k? Many thanks in advance

Hi all,

Need some advice on losing weight. I'm currently 66kg , 166cm tall, female and am trying to shed some weight. I'm currently on a 1200 cal diet and have been working out daily (hiit workouts on youtube) since early march 2020 (3x a week prior to march) but I have not lost any weight yet. I'm getting really stressed out because I have already cut my calories and am working out at least 1 hour a day but I dont see any results in terms of the scale.

My daily meal looks something like this,

Breakfast- greek yogurt, almond milk, spinach and banana or overnight oats with chia seed and banana.
Lunch- quinoa, chicken breast cooked with 1 tbsp of olive oil, seasoned with herbs/chilli flakes, and loads of vegetables
Dinner- I alternate between green smoothie/overnight oats/ the same thing I had for lunch

I've read that some reasons for not losing weight is because I'm not consuming enough calories so the body is storing fat instead. However the thing is I did not even lose a single weight even though I'm controlling my calories and working out, I'm worried if I increase my calories I will end up gaining more weight instead.

Am also thinking of engaging a PT for more professional help. In the meantime I'd appreciate some advice, thank you!

Your meal looks fine. Next try weight lifting after mco (if possible/ safe to hit the gym). In terms of your HIIT workout, perhaps you'll want to try variety of different combination of workout from body weight workout to HIIT (then again we don't know what sort of HIIT regime you're doing?). Make sure there's time for your body to recover. Overworking your body (i.e. daily workout) without enough rest won't help with your progress. Also remember to drink more water!

What do you guys do when you weight gets stuck?

I've lost around 25KG since last year, but in the past 3 months, my weight has been around the same. I've cut out a lot of food and my daily intake is always around the recommended 1500 calories. I use MyFitness app and monitor what I eat.

I beg to differ here.

Not all people is suitable for KETO.

And u do know that the doctor that invent this diet died of heart attack & liver failure ?
Well.. Keto was actually good for me. Keto improved my overall health. I just love all foods, so I couldn't stick to it. But I can try it again in future.

Simply because I couldn't stick to Keto diet, I couldn't loose more than 3kg. And when I started eating carbs again, the 3kg came right back.

I have an average body type with average weight considering my height. So it is not difficult to loose weight by restricting calories and exercising. Long-term Keto works better with obese people with insulin (hormone) problems.

I feel you. I also have the same experience. Try to exercise before work or during lunchtime. Or take some magnesium, high absorption, not citrate form. Magnesium helps with sleep.

my 2 cents, if you're going into keto, your first and your main goal is to reach keto adaptation. the 3kg you lost is merely water weight, which can be easily gained back when you consume carbs. eat as clean as possible, try to aim for 0 carbs and high healthy fats so your body is able to produce ketones as fuel.

do not exercise when you're still in the process of getting to keto adaptation as your body is still burning carbs instead of ketones. once you're keto adapted and your body is burning ketones, then you can exercise. when i say exercise, i'm talking about lifting weights, doing cardio.

during keto adaptation, you'll get tired easily as your body is still carb dependant. your body is still craving for carbs to be used energy. usually it'll take 2 to 3 weeks to fully convert your body from using carbs as fuel to using ketones as fuel.

btw how do I 'know' if I have enough vitamins and minerals? I have been on food court diet, no home cooked meals, do I need to start getting multivitamins and minerals? Blackmores stuff?
*
foodcourts meals are alright.. plenty of carbs and chickens and pork and beef for proteins and minerals and usually plenty of vegs too. Very well-balanced, except for too much salt, too much sugar and too much oil. Nothing deficient in foodcourt meals. only excesses.

low in minerals and Vits?
U&E ie BUSE will give you sodium and potassium levels, bone profiles will give you calcium and phosphate and Mg2+ levels will give you magnesium. you can ask for 'vit D' levels and the lab will give you 25(OH)VitaminD levels which correlates with VitD3 levels ie cholecalciferol ie the things that you need. All these in just one blood test consisting of 2 gold-topped bottles.

dont be worrying about deficiencies, worry about excesses. do your body a favour and go check your cholesterol esp HDL, LDL and Triglycerides.

Now they got this ready cooked sous vide chicken breast.. you just need to keep them in fridge and when you are about to eat, just microwave for 5mins. Simple and delicious.. sometime I add vege then it becomes salad..last time I bought from mini mart but now I order through 2Brothers chicken breast (fb).

Question.

How do we keep track of calorie intake? Example : 3 eggs omelette + 3 slices (Green Gardenia Bread) + bit of vege soup

Cause doing I. F and practicing 23+1. My base (Liquid Meal consists of 540kcal) + food intake from 1k to 1.2k (Need help on how to calculate). During 23 will only go for plain water, dark coffee (No sugar), green tea (No sugar) and tea (No sugar).

Refer to my signature. I'm using this calorie counter mobile apps premium plan that comes with pretty comprehensive Malaysian food database which is maintained by the company. If i recall correctly, you can use the basic features tracking carb, protein, fat and fiber of food intakes for free. However, if you want to check the micro nutrients (like how much zinc, magnesium, cholesterol etc) of your food intake, you have to subscribe to a plan costing i think USD/MYR 12 a year (cant recall correctly). Before using this apps, i was using MyFitness Pal but the food database quality varies a lot and many duplicate entries for same food.

Just install the apps from the link in my signature and if you have any question on the apps, do ping me.
