I understand and been through your situation. Financial is one of the most critical part in a marriage and also relationship. Some major factors of divorce and family disorder is caused by financial insecurity.

Why not, do it one step at a time. Most importantly, your lady must first understand your financial situation. Even with current turmoil, you still can have a lovely proposal, arrange a nice dinner with both side parents invited. After that can arrange for the ROM and maybe a small little party with friends and family. It will not caused much. I think most importantly the lady wants an assurance and so does the parents. Many couple I know had a very simple but meaningful wedding ceremony. Like I always say, a Grand Gring Grong wedding will not promise you a good and healthy marriage.

I agree with you 100%. For man, 30 is just the beginning of our adult life. But for the ladies, is the other way round. There will be risk for pregnancy. Not high like in the 40s but still there is risk.

So I guess you can just do it one step at a time. If she really loves you, she will understand. Like what we Chinese like to say "cheap got cheap ways of doing, expensive got expensive ways of doing".

But most importantly is to enjoy the whole process of your wedding planning experience. You wont want to remember it as "hell".
