"Sulfates are responsible for the actual cleansing action. Sulfate-free shampoos will therefore not have that level of cleansing and this could lead to resultant dandruff and other associated problems. Thus, a small amount of sulfate is important. This way, the damage is minimised and cleansing is maintained"

I guess in the end it depends on what is your objective, to clean your hair or to have vibrant look?

Not necessarily. There are ways to clean your hair without SLS. People in the west are going towards SLS free products from toothpaste, soaps shampoos.

People in the west are using more natural soap base and I must say, it feels nicer than your store bought dettol, lifebuoy. Lux. Even in malaysia we have out very own green bar soap without SLS. Is very cheap too.

Now I remember the name. 999 chlorophyll soap.
