QUOTE(Pink Spider @ Jan 5 2015, 01:31 PM) Ignore distribution YIELD, that term is (quite) misleading and meaningless
In fact, gross distribution AMOUNT also meaningless, u only concerned about net distribution amount
Your holdings (no. of units) x net distribution amount = amount of distribution u get So whats the difference between gross and net distribution? FOr ES SC, the gross distribution is 4.26 sen.

QUOTE(ntdote @ Feb 12 2015, 12:11 PM) my previous investments of the top performing funds doesnt give me good return. just barely breakeven after 4months.
now im thinking of buying those worst performing funds recently with upside potential. Any recommended funds to make full use of the 0.8% promo?
Thanks.
PS/Preferably funds outside malaysia as im heavily concentrated here locally.
Go for Manulife India Equity Fund. India's economy is booming.

QUOTE(David83 @ Feb 23 2015, 11:24 PM) CIMB Principal Asia Pacific Dynamic Income Fund is an absolute fund that targets to provide a consistent annual return of 8%. It is relatively a steady climber over time if you dig into its graph.
Similarly to Aberdeen Islamic World Equity Fund which is also a steady climber which employs bottom-up investing strategy to generate decent return. It's also a Shariah compliant fund.
We want a fund that could generate steady decent return over time and don't want a super high volatile fund.
You cannot compare them to your Manulife India Equity Fund in your portfolio. Manulife India Equity Fund should be a growth and aggressive fund backing on the potential high growth that we seen from China in the past few decades. Aberdeen's main focus is US and Europe which is shaky at the moment compared to Asia. Would this be a good time to go in especially for Europe?

QUOTE(David83 @ Feb 23 2015, 11:34 PM) The fund manager will manage its exposure themselves given its wide mandate.
That's why I didn't recommended you CIMB Global Titans Fund which only focuses on developed markets. I guess the advantage of Aberdeen World Equity is that its investments are in blue chip companies (mainly healthcare & materials) across US, Europe and Asia thus spreading their risk.

QUOTE(adamdacutie @ Feb 24 2015, 12:31 AM) Solitary countries Yup, that's why im considering Aberdeen Islamic World Equity now. But I have to be extra cautious because im taking funds from ASB to invest in this so if the returns aren't good, then it would be a waste. QUOTE(yklooi @ Feb 24 2015, 09:03 AM) are you happy with the returns from ASB till now? will you curse if Aberdeen did not perform as ASB? try not to enter for diversification....try to enter to reach the goal.....what is your goal? if you are already happy with that...it is good for you. (but is it sustainable?) if you just wanted more.....have to leave the comfort of the cocoon...which may hurt. if you wanted just a little more excitement from the ASB.....(excitement of ROI comes yearly only), take out 10% (or any rate that is comfortable to you) and get into this Aberdeen.......(excitement come almost daily) Ive already invested 20% into KGF, Eastsprings and now India Equity. 80% remaining in ASB. But am willing to take out another 10-15% and place into Aberdeen.

Can I use my CNY 0.8% token for purchasing Aberdeen Islamic World Equity? If I make my purchase tomorrow morning, will I be in time? Also, can I use my 1% referral token together with this? I suppose no right?
