QUOTE(dasecret @ Jan 28 2015, 10:20 AM) I have the RHB-OSK Asian Total Return, not bad... maybe I should top up.... my portfolio not as per what I intended liao, too much CMF 1. CMF current yield of 3.75%, not too far from Malaysian bond yield2. Weakening Ringgit and accommodative monetary policies from China to Australia to (now) Singapore has made Asian bonds attractive But, would we be too late to board the bus now? |

QUOTE(dasecret @ Jan 28 2015, 10:35 AM) I'm thinking exactly that too. My IRR for my existing investment in this fund is already 9%... maybe just leave it la too late to the bus! QUOTE(TakoC @ Jan 28 2015, 01:37 PM) Not wanting to contribute to the already-technical topics in this thread, but I can't help but to wonder. CMF reported daily interest rate of ~3.8%. Additional interest AND no lock-in periodFor FD. If you put 1 month, it's 3% (assume 3%. easier to calculate). So every month your interest is 3% * RM5,000 (assumed capital) * 1/12 = RM12.50. Easy because 3% is annual % so just monthly apportion it. So how to calculate CMF? 3.8% * RM5,000 * 1/365 for every day. Multiple 30 to get monthly. You get RM15.xx. Additional RM3 bucks only wor. What more u want? |

QUOTE(guy3288 @ Jan 28 2015, 02:04 PM) I see got profit 3+k in OSK GEY and 12% gain in Am Oasis GIE, so i just sold half of them to lock in my profit. profit-taking for unit trusts is not the same as profit-taking for share investmentsLater when price lower plan to buy back, got "transfer in ZERO fee" ( sold my Golden Dragon from HLB) till 23.2.2015. Hope can buy back at lower before expiry of 0% fee . See Post #1 for more info This post has been edited by Pink Spider: Jan 28 2015, 02:21 PM |

QUOTE(polarzbearz @ Jan 28 2015, 09:41 PM) Sorry if this is stupid question 1. CMF is a unit trust, hence not protected by PIDMAre CMF as safe as Fixed Deposit? Or CMF is still "subject to" market risk but way lower risk than bond / equity? 2. CMF by its mandate, cannot buy shares, cannot buy bonds 3. CMF can place fixed deposits, bank deposits, REPOs and other money market instruments, and nothing else This post has been edited by Pink Spider: Jan 28 2015, 09:50 PM |

CMF yield/rate can fluctuate, but its NAV has never went down. In a way I can safely say your capital is almost guaranteed.

QUOTE(xuzen @ Jan 29 2015, 03:04 PM) p/s I always have this fantasy that Pink is as beautiful as the avatar presented. Can talk dirty, can discuss investment... what a dream date. In reality Pink is probably a skinny pimpled faced nerdy boy who loves guzzling on cheap 3-in-1 coffee and working as a lowly paid accounts clerk for some chinaman company. My avatar is my em gái Skinny - checked Pimpled - years ago 3-in-1 - why need 3-in-1 when got office tea lady make Nescafe? Lowly paid - checked Chinaman company - checked xuzen...stalks me |
