I know u bearish on developed markets via CIMB Global Titanic...

So, CIMB Asia Pac Dynamite Income, for more Aussie and Kiasuland exposure, ok? Or Asia ex Japan (more on ASEAN+HK) small-mid cap? notworthy.gif

In the long run, good unit trusts like Affin Hwang Select Opportunity, Kenanga Growth, AMB Dividen Trust etc beats EPF hands down.

Don't see underperformance for 1-2 years and say UT<EPF tongue.gif

TA European Equity fund good? Seems that people say Msia market is down for 1H 2015, maybe we can consider Europe / Global market funds.
*
Go FSM and
(1) read its fact sheets
(2) read its annual/interim report
(3) use chart centre and see how that fund fared against its benchmark/peers

This is how u should judge a fund wink.gif

Bro spider,

Ok teach me step by step.

1. Fact sheets - read already. I m interested.
2. Annual / interim report - see what here?? PE? DY? can guide me abit...
3. Chart centre - let me open first..how I know who are his peers???
*
2. See what are its holdings...but for Feeder Fund like TA European Equity, u can't see anything...so forget it
3. See how it fare againsts Stoxx index

3. Now only I realised FMS got a very great handy chart tool to compare fund performance with peers or benchmarks. I just compared with few funds and its Annualised return is as below

TA European 14.7%
Arbedeen Islamic World Eq -
KGF 17.8%
Cimb AP Dynamic Income 20.4%
Cimb Global Titan 21.6%

I think there are other funds better outpeforming than TA European. Is it right my opinion?
*
U gotta compare apple to apple lar bro

TA European vs Stoxx index

Aberdeen World is unrestrained world equity fund
KGF is 100% Bolehland
CIMB Asia Pac Dynamite is Asia ex Japan
CIMB Global Titans is US+Europe+Japan

Cannot compare like that doh.gif

When Bolehland flying, of course KGF would be "better" than TA Europe!
And US markets have been performing better than Europe.

Well, I think there are two types of comparison:
1) compare funds of certain region from different fund managers
2) compare funds of different region from one fund manager

Both are ok, right?
*
1st, u decide which region u wanna invest in, by researching, which region has more upside potential
Sometimes it's not just about upside potential, u may wanna invest in a particular region for diversification purposes
Then, u shop around for the fund that beats or at least matches the index for that region

(2) FSM website

Those that u REALLY cannot find answer at (1) and (2), ask here. wink.gif

Just topped up Affin Hwang Asia Quantum, CIMB Asia Pac Dynamite Income and CIMB Global Titanic (yes blush.gif cos I need to balance out my regional exposure...my developed markets are 33% of my equities)

Eastspring GEM also has some HK/China and ASEAN stocks which Affin Hwang Asia Quantum and CIMB Dynamite Income might/can have.

But up to 40% of Eastspring GEM are exposed to "pure" EM markets like middle east, Africa, Emerging Europe, Russia, Latin America etc which the other 2 funds are not exposed to wink.gif

jutamind u trying to build a portfolio? biggrin.gif

Today Asian markets red red

Don't wait for Saturday 0.5% discount, top up now! tongue.gif
