More skill dependent. Usually only orthodontist are trained to do this. More chairside time. Self ligating: your teeth will move to follow the shape of the wire. Less chairside time. Apparently less painful. Normal dentist, trained in this orthodontics use this system very often. I think your orthodontist didn't stock up on self ligating system. That's why he needs to order the set (it's expensive). Maybe he's a dinosaur orthodontist who hasn't kept up to date with the latest systems. |
