I went to several orthodontist before. But i was happy with Dr reuben's explanation. I had an open bite, and all the other orthodontist says that needs microimplant or surgery, but I don't want, so he says will try something else. I think he used something called MIOW or MEAW (sounds like a cat). It works very well and I am very happy with the result...
*
I did mine in Whitesmile too and gosh ,I'm very happy with the progress. But i still need microimplant (since i got severe open bite + very gummy smile and refuse to do jaw surgery:)). My open bite nearly close now and i get less gummy smile rclxms.gif yeay. Dr Reuben is so nice too eventhough i've done so many emergency visit tongue.gif (loose bracket, wire, gum infection n etc).

Btw,may I know what is MIOW/MEAW? Is it some kind of appliances?

Rm 200 for how many years? Is it you must settle everything by the time the dentist remove ur braces? Or can you continue pay even after ur done with ur braces?
*
I finish payment on Jan(not even 2 years since I started). Still having treatment now(no pmt required biggrin.gif ). Not sure about pmt arrangement if treatment finish first. You can consult the clinic bout this.

Ic thanks. Last question, you happen to know what is the cost for the braces that they fix it behind teeth? I'm guessing since it just putting it behind the teeth I suspect 7-8 thousand right?
*
You can enquire bout the price from clinic (i think it's called lingual braces). But it definitely expensive than traditional metal and damon braces.

*

Any good orthodontist to recommend for Damon Braces in KL/Selangor area? Appreciate your reply. Thanks.

I've heard of Dr Wong in Sri Petaling but I am not too sure whether he is an orthodontist or not. Any one?

Hi RinaArian

since u have just done it, can i just check with you if it is suitable for a lady aged 40+ to go thru the procedure? my aunt wanted to do it since last 2 years but was hesitating, some said it is painful especially if you are older. appreciate your feedback. cos i'll be meeting her this weekend. tks
*
Hi Jaclynjac,

The oldest patient doing braces i read frm internet is 80+ years old. I guess if the condition of teeth and gum is good braces can be done. You can ask your aunt to get consultation frm orthodontist.

Anyone know where can i buy retainer cleaner in kl? Kind of incovenience for me to get it online(so far,i know it's available in us). I'm kind of scared to use polident tablet coz it is said that over time it'll turn the essix retainer yellow. Currently i just soaked it in warm water twice a day

What is the current Pricing of doing Braces right now , Private and Government ??

Thanks
*
Price depend on clinic and the type of braces(at private clinic). For government not so sure though. Bt i heard people say they only accept patient age 17 years and below. But it also depend on severity of the case(if the teeth not so problematic,i heard govt clinic won't accept it).

Hey guys, it is a must to extract wisdom tooth before putting on braces?
*
Not necessarily. Doctor will review your x-ray then will decide whether they need 2 extract it. Mine still intact since it doesn't "kacau" my braces treatment biggrin.gif (maybe cos it doesn't erupted in weird angle laugh.gif )

Any one go through teeth braces with Orthodontic Micro-implant?

My doc ask me to go for teeth braces plus put 12 Orthodontic micro implant to reduce my gummy smile and my jaw or wat. hahaha no experience in this thing but the cost of this treatment is freaking high.

Any advise?
*
Your doctor want to put 12 micro implant screws? Wow, that is freaking many. The most screw i've ever had during treatment is 4. You should try to see more ortho and get their advise on it. Maybe they will provide you with some other solution in reducing your gummy smile, aside from having a mouth full of screws(surgery maybe).

Is it too many? Upper 8 pcs n lower 4 pcs. He is vry experienced doc.. I also dunno.. not much good specialist in JB area...

Very scare surgery... rather go without surgery... hehe..b
*
Yes I agree. I prefer nt 2 have surgery (thus i still have gummy smile,bt nt as worse as b4).

It sounds many 2 me,coz i never had that much screw in my mouth b4 sweat.gif . Bt you can still ask other orthodontist if you wanna opt for other solution smile.gif .

Hello everyone,

would like to ask, is there any recommended local dentist who offer braces?
My gf could not really afford private dental.
She's looking for local clinic/ hospital.

a few doubts,
how much will it cost for local clinic/hospital to complete the whole "package" of doing braces

how long do we need to wait ? ( i heard usually local one need to wait for like 3 to 6 years, some even 9 years !!!!!!)

is local doctor good enough? or they just cincai cincai ??

anyone here have experience doing it?
would like to hear more from you biggrin.gif

thank you very much !!!!

Oh ! and one more thing, my gf is 18 this year, is it too late to do so? what is the recommended year to put braces?

sorry that i've asked so much questions as i'm totally 0% knowledge regarding "teeth braces" or whatever they called it haha
*
Last time i heard govt dental clinic only accept patient for braces treatment aged 17 and below(correct me if i'm wrong). Bt some dentistry faculty in local university (uitm,um n etc) it is said that they also offer braces treatment cheaper than private clinic(nt sure whether they got age limit though). Ur gf can ask around bout this.

any one wearing clear retainer?

i have been wearing clear retainer for 9 months... everyday and night.

I can see few cracks on my retainer... should I still wear it?

If i go back to my dentist do they usually keep the original retainer mold or they will mold the current teeth position which might be different compare to right after braces.
*
I'm wearing clear (essix) on lower teeth for 11 months d. It has also develops a few dents or hole??. But since it's not broken, i just keep wearing it biggrin.gif

They will need to do new mold (as the previous mold have to be broke when they do the retainer cry.gif ). That's what my ortho told me when he need to take new mold for my upper Hawley retainer.

Your teeth will still be in their perfectly aligned position, unless you didn't wear the retainer dutifully as instructed.
