QUOTE(PinkPony @ Apr 24 2013, 04:31 PM) The price of conventional metal braces depends a lot on the location of the clinic and also the condition of your teeth. Do not be afraid to go for a consultation at the clinic most convenient to you to get a quotation on the price. Just to give an idea, I know of some clinics in Subang which charges up to RM6k ++ for metal braces with monthly tightening whereas some clinics in Klang only charges half of that with tightening/ check up every 2 or 3 weeks. Ooh.. do you know which klang dentist charge at half the price?? Wanna do my bracers asap.. getting old =(

Hi RinaArian since u have just done it, can i just check with you if it is suitable for a lady aged 40+ to go thru the procedure? my aunt wanted to do it since last 2 years but was hesitating, some said it is painful especially if you are older. appreciate your feedback. cos i'll be meeting her this weekend. tks

I guess if the condition of teeth and gum is good braces can be done. You can ask your aunt to get consultation frm orthodontist.

Anyone know where can i buy retainer cleaner in kl? Kind of incovenience for me to get it online(so far,i know it's available in us). I'm kind of scared to use polident tablet coz it is said that over time it'll turn the essix retainer yellow. Currently i just soaked it in warm water twice a day

is it more effective to pluck out teeth for bracing treatment if you have a overbite problem?
because my dentist do not recommend extraction of teeth unless it's really needed.
but my friends who had done braces before (overbite problems as well), strongly recommended me that it would be more effective if the dentist extracts teeth to have a better results after bracing.

QUOTE(edge85 @ May 1 2013, 10:47 AM) ahha, 90% of my patients with regular extractions do not even get PCM. Just want to update you on this, the severe pain that last for around 3 days is due to infection of gum. It became inflamed, swollen and having a bad smell. Once been diagnosed, 3* daily of Flumox conveniently eradicate the infection.

For government not so sure though. Bt i heard people say they only accept patient age 17 years and below. But it also depend on severity of the case(if the teeth not so problematic,i heard govt clinic won't accept it).

Anyone did braces due to underbite? Is it supposed to be more painful than normal straightening?

For me age is not really a significant matter, but if you performed this treatment during a younger age, you able to enjoy the result for a longer time Cons are, if for metallic, the (i) scary thought of removing 4 healthy teeth, (ii) multiple oral ulcer on the first few weeks because your lips are adapting with the metallic bracket and for some (iii) they feel embarassed to going out with braces on their smile. To be honest, I don't think it is that bad, some people tend to think it as a fashion.
