depends on where u want to do it and what type of braces u want to wear. the common type of braces are metal braces and ceramic braces. metal is stronger and cheaper while ceramic is looks better. I am now wearing metal braces. KL area is a little bit pricey compare to Bangi, Kajang, Seremban. Last time i checked in Bangi is around RM4500. RM2000 for the first payment, and the rest can be pay during each treatment session.

one big advice : please check the feedback of the clinic before u decide, i regret doing at my dentist, too many patient, and he is not that reliable. i have been wearing braces for 4years +.

Saw your teeth on page 26, mine is slightly ok than yours, but yours also can be considered as ok, not too bad. 2 years easily can get normal teeth if you follow the treatment schedule. I am wearing it for 4years because i seldom do the treatment, not following the schedule at all, and and eat all kind of food, somtime it damged my braces, months after that only go to see the doctor. One thing u need to have if u want to wear braces is DISCIPLINE.

I am not familiar with other dentist schedule, so i will share mine. usually treatment will be done once in 4-5 weeks time, so this is the most important thing u need to follow. avoid eating "hard food" that can cause damage to ur teeth. if u really need to eat it, eat it 1 week before treatment so that if the braces got broken u can get it repair soon. Believe me, food is the hardest part. i know many people that follow this, and they can get off the braces just after 2years. age is also one of the main factor that determine how long u need to wear the braces according to my dentist. the older u are, the longer it will be(implying teeth problem is the same). but, no worry man, after u wear it 2-3 months, u will not bother to get it off, at least i am. 

in penang is only 3-4k

I did mine at Looi orthodist for 3.5k

wore it for 4 and a half year, going to take it off next month

I paid MYR 3800 for traditional braces treatment, MYR 250 for X-ray and dental mold at Looi Orthodontic Clinic. MYR 110 for teeth extraction at an unknown dental clinic. 

My teeth before orthodontic treatment were well-arranged, but I had an overbite.    Braces do help me in correcting my teeth structure, look better at least.

I'm taking them off very soon. 

Guys will teeth cleaning be included in package? Or you have to go to a proper dentist to clean your teeth yearly?

Generally 2-3 times of teeth cleaning included in the treatment, ie pre-treatment (before putting up the braces), during treatment (normally after 1 year), and post-treatment (after removal of braces) 

mine is included. I guess other only include first time, ie before putting on braces

Depends what's the problem with her teeth. If under bite, better do it when she's at least 15.

Just took off my braces after 2 years 10 month of wearing them.
Then... Comes the retainer, I got the clear plastic one for the bottom and Hawley retainer for above teeth.. I dont mind the plastic one though, but why cant my orthodontist put plastics on my upper teeth and used Hawley instead? I find it very uncomfortable..

Mine i did in a gov clinic, on my appointement card is written the next appointment what will they do to your teeth, so I know already they are going to debond my braces

I think you better get a breakdown for the RM 7,000.00 . Or else they will simply charge you. Haha, you better ask them whether this RM 7k include the de-bonding. Mine damon cost me RM 6,800.00 3 year back, and it does not include the de-bonding cost. (the Rm 7K should exclude those extraction of teeth)

I thought normally the doctor will ask the patient to pay like RM 2,000.00 first, then subsequently when you visit the doctor you can pay it by instalment. Not this???

First retainer is FOC, then i change to permanent one that i can't remember how much it cost.

For FOC, I get the normal clear retainer. Yup, the permanent one is some wire embedded onto your teeth (at back of the teeth). I would say around RM700 to RM1000. The normal clear retainer already cost RM300 to RM500, so permanent won't be cheaper than that.

It's never too late hehe =D I started at 26/27 as well XD
