Hi guys, I'm pretty new here but just thought i post something to show what i've been up to lately.

user posted image

Basically what I've done for the full burst kit is respray all the dull poo joints to tamiya gold color and added flat top coat to give it a more metallic look. The rest of the chrome gold still remains. Will post more pictures when I've made some progress. smile.gif

I might use gloss. However i think the flat coat makes it look abit more "weathered" if u catch what i mean. I might remove the fixed pieces to show you more.

edison's full burst arriving in 1-2 weeks. @cKm83, don't you think the gloss finish looks more metallic for the joints? the flat coat makes it similar to the HG lol. and the bucue...i don't think it's worth the HG space allocation ;D

Hi Guys!More progress as well as a little pic on the color which i have chosen to paint the joints.
First pic is taken with flash. Surprisingly the gold turns out looking really different on both pics.

Also, i've modded the fingers. The MG Strike Freedom's fingers are easily modded so that all 5 fingers can articulate. All you have to do is use a modelling knife and gently slice through the 3 which are joined together as they all have ball joints molded ready. Will post more pics at the end of the day.

Haha thanks. This MG Strike freedom is really good. You can do alot of minor adjustments to improve it like the fingers etc. Or one could say bandai got lazy by not adding it in the first place. Btw for those interested in the full burst kit, i hope you guys know by now that not the whole internal frame is chrome gold. Only those exposed parts are chrome gold.

Foxngn i think thats a mixture of metallic paint and shading. I personally don't own a airbrush as well as i only do models once every few months. Anyway some updates on my MG SF FB kit for today. Kinda slow progress due to the holiday festive mood

Thanks hokuan!Really encouraging to hear that. I'll post more pics with more progress. Things left to do are more of the feet, the head, the wings and the 2 rifles. whoami123 i rarely buy MG Kits so i'm not too sure that bandai improved it that way. Previous kits i own did not have ball joints on all fingers or i did not noticed them?Hmm...personally i only own 4 MG kits including the MG Strike Freedom. The others are the Aile Strike, Freedom, Wing Zero Custom. Btw subimpact i believe getting a NG 144 to try out techniques like cutting of sprue properly and painting for beginners will be good. I started out with a NG 144 force impulse and worked my way up.

Not much bro. I'm not a pro so don't really do much modifications. Besides i don't see why anyone would wanna modify it since its already very well made.

QUOTE(hokuan @ Jan 2 2007, 09:55 PM)
Other than the gold coating and fingers, what else modification you have done?

Guys i'm done building my MG SFFB Kit. Below are the pictures. However would like to ask experts over here, would it be better to put on the decals before applying top coat or top coat before the decals?

Hi Asuk, thanks for the fast reply. In the case of my current MGSF, i have painted the kit and its a smooth surface. So is it safe to say i can apply the decal and spray topcoat after that?

Hi WaytoDawn. Yes the part is black after cutting it. I'll try the pose on the box if i can haha. Will pose some pics when i'm free

QUOTE(WaytoDawn @ Jan 4 2007, 02:19 PM)
Hi ya! I am kinda new at modeling so i was hoping i could get a few pointers around here. First of all, where is the shop Time Machine??
Btw, cKm83 after you cut the fingers individually on the SF, since it is gold plated, are the parts separated  black in colour?cause i usually c that beneath the gold plating is black.

here's an idea for a pose, how bout the pose of SF on the normal MG box?

IMO, the normal MG Strike Freedom is good enough. I bought the full burst kit but i suppose the extras aren't worth the additional bucks. For the extras all you get are

1. Gold joints for the expose portions of the inner frame

2. Additional stand + dragoon posing parts

3. Additional decals

4. Poster

5. Larger box.

wow...then those RM300 airbrushes are...crap? blink.gif
no surprise there...after all....they're plastic.

@cKm83: does the normal MG SF have those "effect" parts that come out of the back of the Dragoon?
