OK, im learning to grasp the camera well (close to body, palm support etc)

But the PZ 1650mm is too short & A6000 quite small to hold and feels awkward



About speed, the "rule of thumb" that I learned is : reciprocal of the focal length

So if 35mm, I should use at least 1/60s

btw, can i still use my samyang 8mm on my a7? without any vignet? it seemed like even if shaved the hood, there will be round vignet also..

but it's still not a curse what, that one is your setting wrong.

i would liken "curse" to something like the lens is so sharp, it's making you do more work when it comes to post-processing because it's too detailed.

Just curious, why some ppl using 35f18 to shoot portrait rather than 50f18 ?

It's actually not too bad if you don't want to cover crowds during an event. Though your quick lens changing ability WILL be tested of you're the only photog and you don't have a spare body with something wider.

That said, the SEL50 particularly isn't well suited for fast action and movement. AF can be so bloody slow when the light isn't optimal that you'll miss shots for sure. 24Z isn't all that good either as it doesn't have OSS... so the only prime for APS-C nimble enough for events would polly be the 35.

But really, covering events with a single prime really isn't a good idea to begin with. Something like the kitty or the 1670Z is much, much better suited.
