Thanks ! Will probably look around for a 2ndhand lens + adapter then smile.gif In the meantime will try out 50mm using kit lens.

FYI, a lot of people recommend 50mm as their first prime due to their approx view like human eyes. But they always forgot those only applicable for FF sensor. On a5100, you need to apply crop factor so you should be getting around 30mm to get close equiv. of 50mm. Also when using camera without evf, people tend to stretch their camera out to see the live view so it wont exactly look like eye view unless you place the camera close to your head.

i see.. but 35mm lense is a little more pricey than the 50mm if not mistaken? (just looked through the sony e-mount lenses) I'm looking for a more affordable option to start with .. but I would love to try and see which of these works for me if I could haha

Doesnt have to be 30mm. I did mention you may have to strech your hands out so ~20 to 25mm may be more ideal to get close to equiv 50mm FF. You can even go for 50mm (75mm equiv FF) if you wish, dont have to follow the crowd.

If you are serious about learning and not the hangat, hangat tahi ayam type, then I would recommend that you get the A5100. Using the A5100 you will be able to understand what different focal length and aperture settings do to your pictures.

A point and shoot cam like the WX350 will not be able to give you a good grasp on those things as you would not be able to really tell what focal length you are using. You will also have less control over things like White Balance settings, metering modes and AF points selection.

So throw yourself into the deep end and get the A5100 with the kit and at least one prime lens and start learning.

The A7ii does have the feature that the cam will highlight the object that comes into focus when using manual focus right? What's that call again?

I suck at MF so that's the reason I want AF.

Talking about brighter version lenses on A mount, that's the other thing that's holding me back.

Oh, and one more thing : will I be able to use my F20AM flash on the A7ii and still be able to control my other flashes wirelessly? I'll need an adapter of course.

However a5100 doesnt have physical psam dial mode. Quite convenient if want to switch between shutter, aperture and manual in low light scene on the fly. With extra budget just up to a6000 (though you lose the touchscreen for flexible autofocus). Sony really just seem to throll people with "almost perfect but doesnt have" spec. A6000 would have been my go to camera if it just came with touchscreen.

Hey thanks for your advice. I'm actually abit worry that I'm the hangat2 Tahi ayam guy and that's why maybe I should start of with the wx350. But after doing some research, the a5100 is so tempting though  drool.gif
Thank you for your words. But idk how to see the camera whether is it in good condition (fungus etc.) or not since I'm a newbie  unsure.gif
Another question  hmm.gif  how do u guys start of with your basic shooting skills?

Bring a torchlight. Shine at the sensor and through the lens.

To learn basic skill, go to youtube. Search effect on focal length, bokeh, aperture, shutter priority, iso, macrophotography, potrait. Of course see which gives best advice, dont just stick to one like digitalrev (aka camera Topgear).

Yeap, apparently they are exiting soon... news comes straight from Korea itself. Which is, like I said, a shame. But apparently the top management doesn't think they're making enough profit out of imaging, so that's that.

Like I said before, I kinda like their lenses. The (very bright) 16-50 and the 85 particularly. Plus their NX1 sensor have already been benched by DxO as being the best of the best.

But oh well... this is the same top brass who thought that the iPhone clone S6 and iPhone + stylus Note 5 was a good idea so yeah.

As of buying the Samyang 2/12, it depends, do you plan to stay APSC for long or do you plan to go FF any time soon?

Also, the 2.8/12 is actually a fisheye lens, and that 2.8/10 doesn't take external screw in filters due to the bulging front element (likewise the 2.8/12 fisheye). Which leaves the 2.8/14 if you wanna use it with normal circular filters.

Only from one source and its not accurately google translated. I checked other korean news, nothing was mentioned. Kind of exaggerated. Besides rumor is they exiting point and shoot, not NX line. So better wait for official annoucement.

Youtube. Gary Fong is more like promoter for sony than tutorial. Tony northrup video is rather informative for general tips and help. There are others but considering a6000 popularity you may have to dig in deep to find the one you like.
