Rovers9If you are serious about learning and not the hangat, hangat tahi ayam type, then I would recommend that you get the A5100. Using the A5100 you will be able to understand what different focal length and aperture settings do to your pictures.
A point and shoot cam like the WX350 will not be able to give you a good grasp on those things as you would not be able to really tell what focal length you are using. You will also have less control over things like White Balance settings, metering modes and AF points selection.
So throw yourself into the deep end and get the A5100 with the kit and at least one prime lens and start learning.
albnokThe A7ii does have the feature that the cam will highlight the object that comes into focus when using manual focus right? What's that call again?
I suck at MF so that's the reason I want AF.
Talking about brighter version lenses on A mount, that's the other thing that's holding me back.
Oh, and one more thing : will I be able to use my F20AM flash on the A7ii and still be able to control my other flashes wirelessly? I'll need an adapter of course.
However a5100 doesnt have physical psam dial mode. Quite convenient if want to switch between shutter, aperture and manual in low light scene on the fly. With extra budget just up to a6000 (though you lose the touchscreen for flexible autofocus). Sony really just seem to throll people with "almost perfect but doesnt have" spec. A6000 would have been my go to camera if it just came with touchscreen.
