Guys I'm planning to buy xbox 360 by end of this week after i got my salary for this month. After reading almost all relevant posts i'm a bit confused now cos I went to OU last week (Gamester Direct) and the guy said it's safe to play modded 360 on xbox live as long as the game is original....however most of the posts here seem to be saying that it's not safe to play modded 360 on xbox live..

I need input from you fellow xbox 360 gamers....i really want to play on xbox live....

appreciate ur help....i cant wait to get a hold on 360...i grew tired of playing xbox knowing 360 is around...cheers mate!!

u can afford to buy original games and u can cough out extra to pay for the mod job.... why not just save up the mod job and get urself 1 or 2 more original games...

well it's safe at the moment to play ori/ahem games in a modded 360. you wont have any problems but please take note, once microsoft update the dashboard immediately you'll be ban forever from xbox live. the update is coming soon but not that soon so those that purchased your socalled modded 360 can tell the whole world yes you are playing ahem games without any problems.

Yeah but whats the use of a modded console that will cost you more than ori if you cant paly fake games.

He's still talking about a modded console and JackSparrow games. Plus just because the game is original doesn't mean you're completely safe from the banhammer. You're console has been modded. Something has been changed. In order to be completely safe going on Xbox Live with a modded console, you need to know what security checks Microsoft runs on the 360 first. Then you need to make sure your modded console can pass all these security checks. Also think about future possibilities - updates and such.

Bottom line is, you will not be completely safe from the banhammer if your console is modded. Support original

Just becareful lor .. Microsoft might know about the flash program yet .. but later MS will eventually find out no matter what. They will check the HDD and banhammer will start to fly .. if u kno what i mean.

Ello, It's nice to see that you are interested in getting on the HD gaming bandwagon with the X360. I can assure you that your making the right step.
As to modding or not modding it totally up to you. Dont belive the shop sales person fully, coz they just wanna sell and dont really care bout after sales. If something goes wrong they might say "Orly..?" For now it MIGHT be save to go online with a moddedm X360, but who knows what MS have in the future for us. Ori games are considered affordable these days, at RM150 a pop, getting 1 game a mth is good enuf. Try not to venture to the dark side m'kay. Dont do something that you might regret your hard earned monies. Stay true to the cause bro.

yes the thread started with him asking can I play ori games on live with a modded console, but notice his main concern is he wants to be able to play pirated games too cause he can't afford to buy every single game that comes out in ori form.

here's a newsflash... u don't have to buy every game that comes out, only those which u know u'll enjoy playing. sheeeesh...

I second the previous post =D I dun wanna get in trouble for flaming but now i move to 360 and enjoy the benefits from ori games i really hate those people who buy jacksparrow games, especially those for 360, they make MS not want to bring Xbox live officially to msia and it irritates me to no end.. pc for photoshop i can understand its like RM2XXX but you could by 10 xbox 360 games for the price of 1 photoshop, so guys everyone out there, don't be squids and support original xbox 360 games.
Also, referring to the threadstarter, I'm personally all for you jumping into next-gen gaming, I did about 3 months ago and never looked back even if my pocket did cos the the price jump, i converted to all ori from then on. It's nice to enquire about jacksparrow games first and modding but please try and stay away from the darkside. Pirated games are not cool, even if you are seen as rich boi for buying ori games, at least you know your conscience is doing right thing because people work very hard on these games and their efforts need to be recognised even if the game itself turns out to be abit carpy.

no... you just don't buy crappy games.. with all the info going around the internet now a days it's pretty hard to get a crappy game that you just feel like throwing yourself off a cliff after you realized how much money u wasted on a crappy game

just curios, if can, i also wan support ori... but hack... not my fault la, my papa is not rich, and i earn 5k, the game is 2xx~3xx..
at oversea, people earn 10k, the game is 40~50..

well ori games around rm160 to rm220 depends on what title and region...well buddy me also get around rm1000 per month for pocket money , the way to get and buy a new games , sell ur old games....then buy a new once.

why some people here if there is lack of something always blame the goverment...never bersyukur !

This discussion is getting old. There is so many way to "recycle" your original games fund, With the right financial management, i am sure everyone can do it.

Some items are cheap in Malaysia some are not, the same goes for other countries. You can't compare directly like that.
You think the oversea people earn alot? Sure, they pay alot of taxes too especially in UK. The tax burden is so ridiculously high for a middle class resident when their average salary is just £1000-£2000.
In UK, you need to pay approximately £100-£200 monthly for council tax and that's excluding your income tax, property tax, house rental, car insurance etc. Left over is like peanut only, and 360/ps3 games are priced at about £40 due to heavy tax too!

Besides, gaming is just a form of entertainment. Point is, if you can afford it...please do so, help support the local gaming industry and it's the right thing to do.
