Well, I change phones every year (much to my wife's annoyance) so maybe I won't be able to use up 64GB in a year anyway. Besides, since the 6 Plus is Apple's first venture into phablet territory I'm sure the next gen one will be much better smile.gif

16GB will be good enough if you 'upkeep' your phone regularly. You have to delete unwanted pics, whatsapp pics from your phone. If you link your icloud to camera roll, it would even require more storage on your phone. You have to keep games and apps to a minimum and delete unused ones. 16GB is good enough for those who use their phones mainly for calls and social networks and social messaging.

Given the increasing trend of iOS update size, it's fair to assume that even users with relatively minimal storage needs will encounter issues with insufficient space by the time they've moved up to iOS 9. I have a strong feeling the 6/6+ will be the last batch of iPhones to stock 16GB, with the next refresh starting at 64GB. Correct me if I'm wrong, but sales of the current batch have already indicated a customer preference for more than 16GB.
I really suggest you wait.

If you are talking about whats in the future, i guess its just some guessing which nobody can confirm or know. Whether iOS 9 will need more space is still unknown as we have no idea whats up apple sleeve and what are they trying to do. Who knows it will be surprisingly shocking that iOS might required lesser space etc. Its all a mystery.
Hahaha.. So whether 6/6+ will be the last batch for 16gb or not, its too early to tell. And your sales of current batch, where did u get the figures from? Malaysia only? doesnt mean the rest of the world like the western country they all prefer 64gb onwards. Who knows they are the people who prefer 16gb etc. haha...

If I use a 16GB, it will be maxed out in no time at all. Even when I was using the 32GB iPhone 5, I was left with around 11GB to play with, considering I deleted "big" apps like Asphalt 8 and Football Manager as well as various videos and photos. shocking.gif

At least with the 64GB iPhone 6, the memory has been doubled and after I reinstalled the two apps I deleted earlier, I still have 33.9GB left to use! rclxms.gif

+1

That is why I also opted for the 64GB. Lazy already to 'upkeep' the phone. Very tiring, like keep your house neat and tidy. tongue.gif

Just received my unit. I have a question though, can I power on the unit without having to set up an account etc. or should I do that one shot?

I actually bought this unit as a present for my partner, and I'd like to test to see if it's working before I pass it to her tonight.

Will buy tickets for my Japan trip this month end. A very impromptu trip and this makes my dream of owning an iPhone 6 Plus almost gone. doh.gif laugh.gif

Anyway, I Googled and Japan iPhone is unlocked as well right? Only certain models are locked. With the Yen keeps depreciating, it is much cheaper to buy in Japan. laugh.gif

But anyway, I'm still holding for the last hope to own one before I leave for Japan, still the amount I will be spending on iPhone 6 Plus can make up a better trip for me in Japan. laugh.gif

The dilemma. Sorry, I know this is a useless post. doh.gif

warranty will activated if you proceed everything until the home screen. you can power on the device, but without activating the phone you can't do anything also.

Alright, in that case I'll just wait for her to get home before powering it on.

You can power it on but you would not get pass the setup page if you dont enter an Apple ID and connect to the internet. Dont worry about your warranty, as your warranty is actually activated on the day Apple couriers you the phone. Check back on your warranty status on Apple's website you will get what I mean.

I strongly dont suggest you get your Iphone from Japan. Yes, it will a cheaper (after conversion) but trust me, you will regret if ever you do need to send it back for RMA later. Resale value will be lower too when you sell it off later. Not worth the 200 bucks difference if you ask me.

This is the problem now faced by my brother when he bought an iPhone 6 from Dubai. Turns out that it can't work in China due to differing settings and stuff (he's based there for work)! sad.gif

Might as well do what I did and buy the iPhone online, and if you're lucky, it should be at your doorstep within 2-3 days from the date of order + payment! rclxms.gif

Actually it is not only 200 difference. tongue.gif
Anyway, after putting in my points and yeah it is about the same price as Japan.

Er, it's not about the timing la. laugh.gif
Anyway, I have a lot of points to redeem but no stock for me to redeem only. Yet I will still need to pay around RM 2.3k for 64GB 6 Plus. biggrin.gif

Its due to a different network band as different countries are running on different network bandwidths. Im quite surprised though as Apple claims its Iphones 6 and 6+ are compatible with most countries' network already.

I don't know if his bro accidentally bought the locked unit in Dubai. Anyway, for Malaysia unit has no issue to be used in China. My colleague has been using LTE on her iPhone 6 which I helped her to buy from here. smile.gif
Another two colleagues will be getting theirs soon which I have helped as well. biggrin.gif

I heard Japan phones cannot mute the camera sound as too many perverts there taking 'secret' photos. Check if it's true b4 buying.

Today, my iPhone 6 froze on home screen and did not respond to touch, (for the first time lol). But Home button+Sleep/Wake button reset fixed it.
