This might probably be the last issue to consider as I'm getting an Xbox 360 quite soon! (Yes, there's the hard work and loans, but it's worth it. )
So, here's the big question:
Shops in MYS hardly sell US/ NTSC/U 360s. I want some games exclusive to USA (Madden!) but not the constant price of 60 USD per game. Yes, they're painful, and I'd like to choose between instant release for 60 bucks and prolonged release for 35. (Yes, I'm a poor b***h, but with me working for the 360, you don't quite see me shelling out 600 bucks for 10 games sans shipping, right?)

Does the softmod actually bypass regions?
I'm gonna mod it only for that.

i'm noob is this but i heard if u mod it once MS update some patch for 360 u will get banned to go LIVE. u will never get update for ur games and download cool stuff. am i right others LYN gamer?

it's not softmod, it's firmware patch. the only thing the firmware patch will do is to look for the security sector at different place. but if the game is for ntsc/uc only and your console is ntsc/j, you can't play it.

I just thought i'd let you know that Madden isnt US exclusive, i bought Madden 07 Hall of Fame Edition thats NTSC/J in Sungai Wang. Costed me RM170. Maybe you can just look for that ? Good luck!

it doesn't bypass the region lock. Madden 06 was NTSC/UC exclusive, but like haflife said, Madden 07 is available to all regions...

Hmm... I'm itching for NHL 07... and it's for the wrong reasons?
Getting a /J, missing out a skill stick control isn't that much compared to Blue Dragon, I suppose.

And another question:
Viva Pinata- you can hit me now, but the game turns me on (screens look incredible). IGN doesn't state a Japan launch, but it's "in" play-asia. Comfirmed?

Whether its for region free purposes, or media center purposes. The modding scene isn't mature enough for you to take the risk.

Either you get ntsc/uc xb360, or ntsc/j xb360.

Viva pinnata ought to release in all region, i doubt the release date would be that much different. It's a microsoft published game, should be fast.

I will most prolly get Viva Pinata, after watching the Viva Pinata TV Animation on TGC, i just luv em all, the colors are awesome.
