I prefer vitamin C tabs. Most of the vitamin C in fruits are destroyed by processing and sunlight exposure. By the time they reach their destinations to be sold, vit C is less than 50% i think.

QUOTE(Mr.Munky @ Sep 23 2006, 04:18 PM) whats the diffrent between fruit juice n pure fruits... those are diffrent fruits lah bang. ribena is made of blackcurrant. If you eat fresh blackcurrant (can be found in tesco) you'll get more. And fresh fruits have fiber, something that fruit juice does not have. And fruit juice, especially the sweet ones has been shown to cause weight gain in children, aka fat.people says that eating pure fruit will give u more vitamins than fruit juice.. BUT!! ribena... gives u 4 times more vitamin c than an orange does... WHICH IS TRUE!!! ARGH!!!! |

The difference is their glycemic index(GI) and it's being explained here http://www.glycemicindex.com/
I went to this workshop about nutritional health once and a question was asked about the differences between eating fruits and drinking fresh fruit juice. The reply was that fruit juice that's squeezed and drank without their fibre tend to have a higher GI than drinking one with fibre or eating the fruit itself...hope this helps... |
