Here's a quick mod I just did on an Apple Mac G4. It was constantly overheating n crashing all the time. So what I had to do was inprove the case cooling. How many of u haf seen a modded Apple? I bet none.

Updatesssss.............
This case has a very unique construction. The external surface is made up of 2 layers. 1st layer is plastic. Then there's about a 3mm gap to the next metal layer. In this pic I've removed the front plastic layer for cutting the blowhole. To cut each blowhole I hafta cut twice coz of the dual layers. U can c that I've already cut the metal panel inside in this pic. ![]() Free hand cutting with the jigsaw. If u noticed, the corners of the plastic panel r not flat. Hence the jigsaw can't sit flat on the panel while I cut. That's y I call it freehand cutting. Coz I hafta hold the jigsaw up in the air without touching the panel to avoid the corners which r curving up. The only thing touching the panel is the blade. Very, very difficult n risky coz 1 tiny mistake can cause the blade to hit the top surface n snap. It cud also damage the panel badly. ![]() More updates soon. Yes it is very, very, very risky n I don't recommend any1 to try freehand cutting with the jigsaw. I cudn cut it with the dremel coz it just melts the plastic n the cuts will be very, very messy. Next thing I did. Time for the top panel ventilation. 2x120mm fans.
Marked out, taped up n ready for cutting. ![]() Once again freehand jigsaw cutting is used. Coz of all the uneven surfaces. ![]() Top panel is done. ![]() Next thing to do is to cut the internal metal chassis. |

So, this upgrades would make the casing to be fitted with one 120MM fan on the front and 2 120MM fan on the top?

attach a 120mm fan onto the heatsink will also improve the cpu cooling. you can try to design the air duct to look more like those car type of air intake on the bonnet.
