QUOTE(loui @ Feb 4 2015, 11:17 AM)
hi TS, I plan to DIY book shelf for my comic book

book size is smaller then normal book hence the ordinary bookshelf is too steep

my book is around 20cm tall and 14cm wide

what type of wood should I go for cause some of my bookshelf(4.5feet wide) bent due to overweight

or should i just make it shorter to around 3 feet wide?

Hi Kasey. i got a quotation. Please give some advice whether worthy or expensive.

1. Kitchen wall unit 10ft w x 4ft H = RM 1800
2.Kitchen Firdge cabinet 8ft w x 4ft h = RM 1480
3. Bar counter with quartz 5ft w x 4ft h = RM2140
4. Wardrobe with mirror sliding door antijump 8ft w x 10ft h = RM 3600
5. Bedroom wall unit with mirror 3.5ft w x 4ft h = RM 770.

Total = RM 9790 for Melamine Board. If go for plywood, price is add on 40% = 13,706.

Thanks

For item 1,2 is reasonable.

For item 3, you might need to double confirm on its materials.

The bar counter bottom part is see thru or got cabinet? Any structure or carcass to support?

Cause RM2140/5ft = RM428/fr. Quarts Stone, Samsung Brand range from RM 380-400/fr.

It is a L-Shape Return bar counter?

For item 4, the sliding door is full height 10ft sliding or got separated?

For item 5, I'm not sure how it looked likes. I had no comment.

But for sure, if you go for plywood. these price doesn't require to top up 40%.

25% to 30% will do.

QUOTE(jeshem @ Feb 26 2015, 11:22 AM)
Hi Kasey,

I would like to know if I want to build a kitchen cabinet, with standard 2ft width(please correct me if i am wrong),
Table top would be 2x2 tiles, drawers and doors will be aluminium,
May I know the following:
1. Does the Aluminium door & drawers can be no door panels? I feel door panel design is kinda outdated.
My kitchen information is listed in the pic:
1. 6ft + 7ft length
2. using 2x2 tiles as table top
3. 1 set of 3 drawers.
4. 3 set of doors - under sink, besides under sink, under stove

Please tell me what is the reasonable price at Klang Valley. smile.gif
Thank you very much notworthy.gif

1-Aluminium door panel is normally melamine or glass door. They require aluminium to furnish it. Thats why some of the house owner prefer use laminated. which is less aluminium using. or NO aluminium using.

1-RM 90-110 for melamine, RM 120-140 for plywood. 11ft x Rm 1xx.xx

2-RM 180-220 for the Concrete Tiles table top. would be 6ft+5ft+6ft(both side 3ft from floor level) 17ft x RM 2xx.xx

3-Melamine Drawer set RM 300, Plywood Drawer set RM 450

4-Already included in item 1.

IMHO, I prefer u use plywood. If you able to talk with the carpenter. They actually and strengthen the shelvings by add on more structure on it.

I had done a sliding book cabinet just like those in library. double layer . I try find back the picture,If got. I can show u.

Yes~Most of my workers rush work for CNY. No Choices, sendiri turun tangan~~..

It just time consuming , It cannot lay more per day, roughly 2-3ft height per day. It can't be consider tough. Cause it done inside house. Not expose to the sun light~

Your stay yourself? or rent out?

How long you will be staying there? 3-5years? or 5-8 years and above?

Do you have any desire shape or design which you wanted to carry out your Personal TASTE and visual enjoyment?

But, frankly speaking. Your price for Plywood is slightly expensive. Mind to share which area you staying?

Hey bro...hav been reading through this post and am really impressed with your replies...was wondering if you could help me out as well...

I'm currently looking to have a custom built cabinet made...an L-shape wardrobe measuring about 8 feet x 2 feet x 8 feet high and about 52 cm deep. Beside the 2 feet portion, was planning to have a small 2 feet vanity area for the girl...

Because of the walkway design, I was looking at 2 options:-

1. Wardrobe with sliding doors. White carcass would suffice since doors will cover it.
2. Wardrobe with open concept and have a sliding door at the "walk in" part. Need coloured carcass since white wont be nice with an open concept.

Would you be able to roughly be able to tell me how much each option would cost?

Thank you very much.

HI KASEY
I bought a property(apartment) in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
When i visited Kk recently to find contractor for renovation, i was very amused when i visited my place when i see the kitchen area is very small, limited space, because of the toilet is just oppositr the kitchen. I was so stucked thinking of the design. Not practical...
I hereby attached u, the floor plan.

I rented out the apartment to students before and when they all finished studies, i plan to take back the house and let it be as our family home vacation everytime i visited or outstation there.
I am going to do some repairing and renovation.
My apartment is 3 bedroom,3 Bath. INTERMEDIATE.
WET KITCHEN IS WHERE I DO LAUNDY. Cannot cook there Because of the aircon compressor are installed above. Very hot..
AIYOOOOo...
I cannot think of any design. Want to do wall cabinet also cannot...

Any suggestions??

Are you referring to this?

but 52cm is quite small, which is only 20inch. if you can go deeper like 22inch,56cm is much more better. if not if with door, it will hit ur hanging shirt or blazer or coat.

And the vanity part I'm not sure how it looked like.

*Sorry for my poor english understanding. You know la,

I need to get correct info before I comment on your question~~
