Hello Preveians, I've been silently reading all the prevoc threads for about a week now. I have booked and applied loan for a black preve cfe. Was given 8k discount from proton and additional 550 discount + fuel from the SA. (I think it's a good deal).
Anyways I've read about some of the common problems a new preve can have and I think I am ready to face it. Hopefully the service centre here is good. I am currently in Kuching, Sarawak but will be going to miri to work with some occasional driving up and down (it's about 800km with a highway thats not really a highway. I was studying in kl for past 4 years so I know how bad the highway here is compared to there)

Anyways i really want to know about the reverse camera issue. Can anyone confirm that a plug and play reverse camera does not void the wiring warranty? And also if anyone from kuching or miri have knows where i can install one as such?

P/s i cannot access the prevoc fb group and also the trade page.

Pp/s I have read the 1st page tips. any other tips on what i should do once i get the new car is most welcomed

Loan just approved today. Car in showroom. SA said another 1 or 2 days can get after jpj registration

Wanted to get red at first but then decided on black. Lucky me black was in stock

I see.. is that for any plug and play camera or depends on the type?

I'm from kuching born and raised. Going to be working at miri starting next month. I got mine from the proton showroom at jalan tun jugah in kuching. SA name Hafiz Ong.
i didn't cancel red actually. I was 50-50 on red and black then last minute decide Black before booking. But SA did mention there was one red in stock.

Got my car this afternoon. Gonna name it black panther haha. Anyways was quite fast from loan application to delivery. Started the process last monday. Minus weekends and public holiday it took 5 days from start to finish. Got 2.86% 7 years loan from Affin bank. I think thats the lowest interest considering I'm fresh graduate. (They was offering 2.8 for full loan 9 years).

So far a few minor problems. Front bumper got one small white line. Rear seat not locking on one side. And the seat belt buckles for rear seat is not visible. Fit and finish.... typical proton standard but not complaining too much. Hope no major suprises after this.

Went to the service centre in kuching today to rectify a few problems. Asked the technician about gps, he told me tp update they have to send the sd card to KL. When i asked about the cost he said it's free but will take some time. Because i relocating soon i didn't send the sd card yet and they told me i can send through the service centre in my new location later.

Is this a new policy by proton? Cause as far as I've read here. Gps updates cost quite a bit

About time to wash my baby. But holding it off till the weekend as my car is gonna be riding on a lorry for a 12 hour journey this Thursday.

Was just browsing through local supermarket here and a few things caught my attention. Wondering if you guys have any experience on it.

1. Rain X.
Its selling here for about Rm 18. A quick google on the product popped up one major worry. It seems it can cause the wiper to judder. Someone on lowyat forum was even asking how to remove it. Is wiper judder common due to rain x use and is it really that bad? Any better alternatives?

2. ArmorAll
A large bottle of the blue concentrate (not the amber ultrashine wash and wax) cost about RM 20 here. Is it good. And is it true a stand alone washing liquid is better than wash and wax combo?

3 Waxing
Is it worth to dyi and for a black preve do i go for the metallic wax or the black wax. Soft 99 has once for black but the english translated label says its for gloss black.

4. Any suggestions for interior cleaner. I.e. the shiny dust magnet parts, dashboard and door panels.

Any exerience shared is greatly appreciated
