Hi, The only difference between changing retirement age to 65 has to do with when you can take out your EPF money. Even at retirement age of 55, after retired, people could find another job or start another business if they want to. Dreamer |

QUOTE(ah_suknat @ Sep 24 2006, 11:28 AM) should be no retirement age limit! Ah_suknat,ok...i know it's impossible. .... i suggest that retirement age should be increase, at least to 60. see TDM, nearly 80 still active. Do you understand that retirement age is ONLY relevant to when you can withdraw you money from EPF?? I cannot foresee a world where most of us still have a job when we are 55 years old or older!!! In a real world with age discrimination and globalization, most of us will lose our jobs way before 55. We probably has to start own business before then. Dreamer |

QUOTE(tkwfriend @ Sep 25 2006, 07:21 PM) is pretty hard actually. business not really eyeryone can do it. if fail how where to find back a sum of money.... Tkwfriend, for some people when they are age 55 epf amount maybe only have a sum maybe 200k depend.some only 100k or less. age 55 if can stay up to 80 then how much going to spend on simple medical and others, if have serious sickness one time treatment gone 30k how are they going to stay on? You are assuming that old people has a choice of staying on their job. They probably don't. Please remember that 67% to 75% of Malaysian are less than 35 years old. There are a lot of younger and cheaper employees to replace older folks in Malaysia. Dreamer |
