Oil up is not significant la bro.

If u say up to 65 or 70 a barrel again.. Ok, that is significant.

If linger around 55 to 59.. nothing special

MYeG charges Rm38 per person on the foreign worker renewal permit, and with recent news of immigration no longer handle the renewal, all must go through MYeG (the only one route so far), estimated 2 million plus foreign worker currently in Malaysia which every year need to renewed one, estimate revenue can be generated from this change of policy by immigration department alone, may be around 80~90 mil.

Learned about this 2 weeks ago. Just didnt think that it would be such a huge that would boost the share price so much.

I really wonder if they really stopped all of those services though. I will be visiting again tomorrow to confirm.

Actually the only one complaining would be those runners who depends on providing such services. Its actually cheaper for employers to go through MYEG than to brace the traffic, queues, delays, server downtime etc. Like Jalan Duta branch for example, requiring employer (representatives) to queue from 7AM and stopped receiving after 830AM.

RM 38 x 2 million + = extra revenue by simply "change of policy".

Somemore, under the MyEG renewal, IG must be bought through them, not to mention insurance cover that optional bundled when renewing time.

Encourage to renew through MyeG, save time on travelling, ok.
But compulsory must through them is another story.

Employer still need to go through hassle of register account with MyeG before can renew worker permit with them.
Mind that MYeg is not a gov entity, in the process of registration, company info, thumbprint will be obtained by a private company.

I don't think gov job should be outsourced to a private entity. Somemore, Malaysia currently is one of high gov servant vs population ratio.

For SME, sometimes it may be cheaper and hassle free for employer to renew the permit themselves through the counter.
GST already increased the workload of clerical job, now extra another job, not to mention EPF also need to submit online.

Online sometimes /= hassle free.
Another burden of keeping user name, password, clerical job.

Clerks may demand increase in pay...  biggrin.gif

Bro,

Have you been to any of them (imigresen) to do the renewal process? I can tell you, it has gone from worse to worst. If paying more will solve problem, you would rather pay. Its really that annoying nowadays. At the height of this mess, I actually filed a complaint with BPA (Biro Pengaduan Awam, directly under Jabatan Perdana Menteri) regarding the ridiculous 3months long appointment date at Jalan Duta branch. Even then there were no answer and they could only offer me "POSLAJU" for my case to settle the complaint.

The situation now:

Putrajaya :-

1-5 passports -- Drop today and return tomorrow (not confirm will complete, need to wait for them to call after wrote your company name)
>5 passports -- Wait a week (but was told by others that they waited for more than 2 weeks with no answer

Jalan Duta :-

Queue numbers will be distributed to those who queue. Queue start at 7AM, numbers distributed around 8AM, and once reach the end of queue, no more numbers will be given. Troublesome for me since I had to fetch kids to school and wife to work. Especially annoying if they had system down and had to queue again the next day.

Shah Alam :-

Same with Jalan Duta.

I believe this may well be the best answer yet, unfortunately. In the end of the day, its the workers who paid the extra, not employers (although my boss did paid for our employees since we only had few). Our agent want RM100 per passport for the same damn job.

The registration process (as explained to me) was relatively simple. You just need to certify true copy company registration, employer IC, representative IC (if any) and make an appointment with MYEG who will sent man over to collect your thumbprint. Actually I had hoped that they required employer to buy a thumbprint scanner so that worker need to scan their thumb to register for renewal. I believe this would close the loopholes for runaway workers but wont be done as it will provide "additional" income.

then MyeG sound like private data miner? hmm.gif
*
Its a messy situation. Imigresen basically wasting time keying in data all the time. I had suggested to them, make the online system for employer to fill up the required data, and they just had to scan the code which bring up the form we filled up. Then just need to double confirm and issue the sticker. In Malaysia, we dont need improvement. We need them as worse as it could get so that we can privatized it and earn... what to do.

That is correct what is happening to their rotting system, they just want to work half day that's why only give numbers in the morning. Up there someone need time to play gold I suppose, that's why all the poor parents with kids has to queue until say no numbers and come back again. For permit they can actually ask for RM750 as deposit and hold it for 7 years, I wonder those million ringgit interests goes to whose pocket.
*
No la.. thats why they need the Insurance Guarantee. If your worker didint run away, then you are safe.

Too bad glovemakers utilization is still quite poor. The currency situation not going to help them a lot.

Hartalega will finish two new plants this year. I already finish supplying some parts to the contractor. 4 to go but I think will be delayed with the current economic situation.

An additional 10b+ gloves this year. Man, competitions is getting stiffer.

Worldwide really need so many gloves?

So many new plants invested by gloves company across.

Hartalega, for example, is really small, despite their market cap and expensive valuation. They only makes about 20b pieces a year. Others have started expansion on Nitrile aggresively and I think they are doing this to preserve their lead in Nitrile segment.

Not meh? Hahaha,... is it a bit higher or lower? Always seem to read that only 1 (or 2) out of 10 are actually paying tax.
