Received a SMS from Hotlink to request me to register for my Hotlink number in the trade of free one-year Hotlink Club membership. The registration service is now available at Penang and Melaka.

At last I registered with the Hotlink (MAXIS) centre. It's very fast though. Just fill in the mobile phone number, name, IC and sign the form. Around 2 minutes. In the form there's a special section to ask for Hotlink members to sign up for the Hotlink Club.

Your Hotlink Club membership shouldn't be affected, This promotion is to attract more people to register, so a year membership fess are waived. But not sure whether those who are Hotlink Club members need to register again or no need.

Not sure on this, I believe there is a discussion on the thread where you
got the info on how to upgrade the simcard without paying the RM 25 no?

Now, since we are on that question maybe you can answer your own
questions before. You said that you had a 3G phone but dont know how to
use the 3G functions and even the Video Call function. Now if your phone
was activated on 3G by the sms option surely this would mean that its not
ok to do it eh ?

There is a code which you can put in and activate the 3G settings in and to
most guys over here it seems that it works. I activated the ole RM 25 way tho.
For more on the discussion you can browse here

For how to do it read a quote by Hoongji here

i'm using the ol' 64k maxis sim card and just send in the (*#) code to activate 3g. to my surprise, my phone showed the 3g icon. so i tried video call my friends and it worked! so what's the point of upgrading the card for RM25? all i know is that we get a brand new 128k sim. that's all. our ol' 64k still can use 3g. no need to waste rm25

Finally I'm entitled to the bonus thing you guys were talking about previously.

Received a SMS from Hotlink this morning indicated that I need to reload before my expiry in order to get the bonus. Can't remember what're the exact figures. Too bad I reloaded after my expiry date as I'm not aware of it.

Very easy that, firstly ask the name of the agent at the start and end
of your conversation. Remember that the agents performance is based on
their actions and the calls are recorded. No response to your problem
within the hour they promised call them up and ask for the same agent.
If he's not available ask for the team lead, that'll make your request a much
pleasant wait. Once you ask the agent name and asks he/she to repeat it
at the end of the conversation they know you mean business tongue.gif

Every call is also traced and recorded so if he/she never creates a request for
you even if its just a trivial query, they'll be in trouble. Wanna know why ?
Maxis this year is up with Digi to compete for the best phone call center award,
the more complaints they get the lower their rating and that's not something
that they would wanna get, since they would wanna keep the record of being
the best call telco phone helpdesk for the third year running this year smile.gif

I had been using hotlink since 1998, no problem all the way, smooth sail. Overall satisfied with maxis service. But, only one issue, their prepare call rate not competitive enough, still expensive sial.
