Err..it is for such a small item. But it's also fabulous that such a small device can pack so many features.

Definitely due to shipping and the fact that the local retailers have to hold stock.

It's about competition (lack of it in Malaysia) and buying power (lack of it among Malaysians). Local retailers have to keep stock and since fewer people buy it in Malaysia they want to get as much profit as possible for each item hence the super high prices.

For some items people buy straight from the US and ship it to Malaysia. Amazon shipping charges are actually quite reasonable so stuff like that GTX980 can be 10-20% cheaper even after shipping and high USD-RM forex rates.

GoPro batteries can't be shipped though, something about LiON batteries burning up in planes so you're stuck with buying local. If you find GoPro batteries for RM300 you're not looking hard enough, it's much cheaper than that.

I'm not sure what you're doing but at least the memory cards (I tried Sandisk and Lexar) both ship to Malaysia. One Sandisk Extreme even with shipping is about 7-8% cheaper than LYP prices, if you go to the more expensive ones or you buy more than one it's much much cheaper than buying here in LYP.

The bag go buy locally lah.

it depends on item and seller.
i used to buy skechers shoe from amazon and shipped directly to malaysia.
the shoe sold by amazon itself, not 3rd party retailer.

and you can buy memory card and moto 360 as well and shipped to malaysia.
yes not all items can be shipped to malaysia.

tax will be calculated in the total price you have to pay. like in moto360, they call it deposit or something, if the amount of tax less than what DHL has to pay then they will refund the balance.
