It's satisfying, but annoying without the right tools. Polotong's door clips are pretty fragile as well shakehead.gif

Has anyone changed their Persona's antenna before? My radio reception sucks really bad. It's mostly ok when the car ain't moving, but completely unbearable when the car is. Is this a problem with the antenna or the Blaupunkt HU (mine is large one) or both?

Quality wise ok la. Janji no 2 different tone visible, haha

1.8k for full body respray? hmm.gif Last time I did mine for 1.7k full external body, but it wasn't enough to secure a decent job that really covered the external surface of the car at the very least. whistling.gif

If I couldn't get a persona elegance h line, I was thinking if I should get a first gen persona h line and mod it to persona elegance. Cheaper by 7k-10k at least.

Need to change:
- side mirror indicators
- Tail lights
- radio head unit
- Persona elegance bodykit
- Rpm meter (not sure where can I get this)
- Front grille

hmm.gif
*
Persona Elegance also uses a 32 bit ECU instead of the 16 bits ECU found in the normal Persona. I think you will need it to use the Elegance's meter. hmm.gif

Looks like there is one direct owner selling a low mileage pe for quite a good price. Only a few things to replace at the mileage. biggrin.gif. Last year when I went used car hunting with a friend, most of the cars have been cheaply resprayed and most presumably have had their mileage adjusted. There was a Hyundai Getz with its mileage adjusted from 189k km to 74k km sweat.gif Based on what I saw written on the engine plastic cover

the red persona? not sure if it is persona elegant cause cannot see the back tongue.gif
seems many advertisement say persona is quite new around 2011, but when see the pictures not persona elegant  doh.gif

anyway i already bought persona sv, quite good.
*
It should be the Elegance version. biggrin.gif

1) No round signal light on the front fenders.
2) Door panels style
3) Glovebox colour (light grey vs dark grey in old Persona)
4) HU style ( single DIN ).
5) Odometer

It should be H-line, judging from the number of airbags, 4 disc brakes, full body kit. PEs that were produced during that time would only come with these few things if you're buying the H-Line model if I'm not mistaken.

I tell u what. If previous you use petronas, and want to change to shell EO. they will put that oil cleaner in Serdang SC. for my case previously im using shell and want to change to petronas EO. they ask about this thing call compression cleaner or something like that. cant remember the brand name. US made. they said to get all the old EO out easier and cleaner.

the one they put in my car is like this. I gatal2 go at the car while they do they work. Is it worth it to use this stuff?

If it works as intended, your engine should work better since the chemical should remove sludge etc.. But Im not sure laugh.gif.

Anyone know how to open up the rear seat. ?

Want to do some DIY. the rear seat got some knocking sound when drive through uneven road.
*
Remove the seat by pressing on the two hooks located on each end of the seats (just run your hand around the bottom of the seat and you'll eventually find it. Push, hold, and then pull the seat out.

You will find three screws that you need to remove (if I remember correctly, and if the new persona design is the same with the old). One is a large one in the middle, and the other two are located at each end of the car (they're small in size holding down a hook).

Once you have removed all of the screws holding the backrest, push the backrest from the bottom up. You will need to move the seat belts out of the way as you do this.

I've read on previous threads that the cost to repaint / respray whole car is around 2k. Any opinions on this?

Any recommendations if wanna change the 4 speakers?Or just get a portable bluetooth speaker no need for wiring whatsoever?
*
A year or two ago it is around there for a decent / average paint job. I'm not sure about the price now.

is it normal if sometimes i cant start my car?
for example i go to shop, park a car. then after comeback from shop, i cant start my car. wait a few seconds (around 10 seconds), then can start the car.

is this mean i cant start my car immediately after enter key in the key hole?
how do i know how long i need to wait before rotate my key from "ON" to "Start" ?
*
When you say "can't start", do you mean it doesn't crank, or it cranks but doesn't start? If it cranks but it doesn't seem to start, it's normal for this engine. You have to twist it for a longer than usual time to start if this happens.

by reading the manual book, now i understand this is not a problem. the manual says:

Tips for starting:
1. Do not operate the starter motor continuously for  longer than 10 seconds; doing so could run down the battery. If the engine does not start, turn the ignition switch back to to the "LOCK", wait a few seconds, and then try again.

hmm.gif  hmm.gif  hmm.gif
*
I don't think it's related to your problem. The tips given should be when your engine cranks normally, not when it doesn't crank at all just because you attempt to start it before everything (fuel system, electronics etc) is ready. I have at times started the car without waiting for anything.

bro if i add two at the front door there
can i adjust like 80front 20back
cuz i think the speaker at the back is too loud for those who sit behind
and if i lower the volume, then i cant hear

how ah? doh.gif
*
If you get front speakers installed, use the fader function in your head unit to bias the sound output to the front speakers. I'm also thinking of adding front speakers. With rear speakers only, the rear passengers will get deaf above volume 11.

Hi All Persona members....
Nubis Kelubis here.... Really unaware to refer here the issue having wit my persona... now already reach 40k milage warranty also sudah habis
Knocking sound when cornering on coming from below near the pedal - notice 1st page have info bout this issue. Can advice which SC able to solve this? Send to Glenmarie SC unable to solve it. Quite disappointed. rclxub.gif

2nd- Aircond/fan switch, whereby already set to off it can suddenly on sendiri to the highest fan... before this it seems SC reset it then it oka sekejap, now after waranty sudah habis been inform that to change it will cause RM700++. Anyone have same issue? cry.gif
*
Mine also got metal knocking noise around the pedal area. It doesn't always appear though. I don't think it's related to the 1st page info, where it's about the air-cond pipe or something.

I had an issue with the air-cond/fan switch as well. I got mine replaced for RM200+-.

If it sounds like "wheeeeeee", I think it's related to your power steering fluid. I had that a long time ago. Used a long life Dexron 3 ATF fluid from Petro Canada as the power steering fluid and it has had no issues since.

Wah. That's like the best aftermarket headlamp I've seen so far for the Persona & Gen 2.
